Our Story

Healing touch, is a need we all have. Self care, is an every day remedy that will heal and cure many aliments. At Healing Roots Massage and Holistic Skin Care we specialize in organic european facials, deep tissue, pregnancy and relaxation massage, sugar scrubs, Reiki, and Sugaring services. Krista L. MacDougall, has always been interested in the human body, holistic approach to healing and naturally she started that journey autumn of 2001. The 650hr reputable massage program offered at Brenneke School of Massage, was a perfect fit. Practicing massage therapy as a sole proprietor brings on great growth. Deep tissue is what she specializes in as well as bringing an intuitive approach to each session of healing. Fall of 2013 Krista attended the 750hr Licensed Aesthetician program through the well known Euro Institute. There, she received a well rounded, detailed, hands on education about skin and all the ways to care for the largest organ of our body, the skin! Krista is passionate about her craft. She believes in using organic products, preferably local, fair trade and high quality that bring the most benefit to each client.

Krista has birthed a new virtual business as a Birth & Beyond Coach. Reflecting about her passion to empower women, especially through the transitions of pregnancy, birth and after, she recognizes there is a true need for authentic, stable, available support for the momma to be and the new mommas becoming... With babes in arms, the new momma is feeling a plethora of emotions.

The women who choose Krista’s coaching services, are in a place where they are needing to connect with a coach that has compassion and empathy, knowledge and first hand experience. Krista has been a Birth Doula since 2002, she specializes in pregnancy massage and has been since 2001, as well as a proud momma herself since 2015! Krista understands the importance of being a lifeline. Her passion for lifelong personal practice of nutrition, gardening, supporting local organic food, farmers, learning about foods that fit her lifestyle and body, to practicing holistic health care, self care, educating clients about ALIVE foods and pure products for their body inside and out, to understanding the importance of being heard, the importance of nurturing the VOICE, the major shifts hormonally happening throughout the entire pregnancy, birth and beyond...4th trimester bring to the surface many emotions, physical challenges, mental exhaustion and more. She gets it!! Krista believes every woman has the birth right to heal and have space held for this journey to begin.

Krista has a beautiful way of active listening to each of her coaching clients, reflecting their story, uniquely guiding each coaching client from where she is in her exact moment of this journey to a place of transformation, a place where, her client is breathing more fully, effortlessly, waking with new energy, joy and calm reside. Krista’s clients feel safe, there is a trust that is felt with complete ease. Krista incorporates her life’s work, experience and being an active momma to ultimately offer her gifts to empower each woman she guides and facilitates healing, reclaiming self, returning to the center, becoming the woman, the momma the partner she chooses to BE.
