Regulus Counseling is a private mental health clinic, serving western Washington, also offering tele-therapy to clients residing in Colorado, Utah, and Florida. Our team of clinicians specialize in guiding clients in their journey into healing from PTSD and other traumas, including helping First Responders and Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) navigate the unique stresses, pressures, and experiences associated with their career, while balancing their family lives; guiding individuals experiencing life or work stresses, in search of transformative change or re-energizing; exploring with new- and first-generation Americans in their journey of the new route in their lives. The common thread among these diverse communities: individuals embarking on their journey towards overall wellness. . In response to the unprecedented health phenomenon, our clinicians are also specialized in tele-therapy— holding sessions through a secure, confidential, HIPAA-compliant platform. Since the beginning of navigation, sailors would use the stars to guide their path during their expeditions. Within Leo the Lion, one of the oldest constellations, lies Regulus, the bright, blue star which marks the lion’s heart, as the lion’s guiding light. Regulus is also known to usher in the Spring season: the season of new beginnings. We believe counseling is a journey: when each person takes the first step in seeking counseling, he or she embarks on an individualistic expedition towards overall wellness. Like the stars— like Regulus— we are your guide in navigating your path in exploration, self-discovery, and healing, harnessing each person’s strength and courage towards personal growth; strength and courage: that of the heart of a lion. We welcome, and are dedicated in helping all individuals embarking on their journey into a new beginning. Our clinicians are licensed in the following states: Washington, Colorado, Utah, and Florida.

Our hearts are with K-9 Jango's family.

Our hearts are with K-9 Jango's family.

It is with an extremely heavy 💔 that we share in the passing of Project K-9 Hero Program Member #373, K-9 “Jango.”

K-9 Jango, was a 3-year-old male Belgian Malinois, who honorably served with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, for 1.5 years as a Patrol K-9, until an on-duty incident in November of 2025, left him paralyzed and unable to breathe on his own.

During his short, but productive career, K-9 Jango was deployed twenty times, and was responsible for eleven criminal finds, as well as one physical bite apprehension. K-9 Jango worked with Spokane County’s SWAT Team, where he specialized in High-Risk Tactical Operations, Search Warrants, Building Searches, Rappelling, plus Helicopter Operations and Hoisting.

On the night of his career ending injury, Jango ran thru a commercial grade double pane glass window in the dark, which left him unconscious and unable to breathe. The handler performed CPR on the scene, and all the way to the ER, in an attempt to save his partner’s life. Once they arrived, and they were able to get Jango stable, the ER Veterinary Staff immediately got him intubated, where a tube was placed in his trachea (windpipe) to maintain an open airway for delivering the oxygen he needed to survive.

PK9H was able to step up and pay the approximately $150 a day for the rehabilitation process while Jango fought for his life. That included the supplies needed, tubing, physical therapy, and 24 hour veterinary care from his doctor.

Please take a moment to mourn in the loss of K-9 Jango. We were honored to be protecting him, after all that he had been through fighting for his life, after protecting our communities and nation 🇺🇸! -

"... exercise places a physiological load on the body, regular physical activity helps the biological stress response system adapt. Over time, this adaptation may make individuals less reactive to other forms of emotional or psychological stress. By regularly engaging in the physical stress of running, participants may have built a resilience that translated into a lower perception of life stress."

New research published in Psychological Medicine indicates that physical activity reduces psychiatric symptoms by lowering perceived stress and interrupting negative thinking patterns.

"But there’s certain moments, you know, in our life that you just have to experience it, and, you know, value our families and our loved ones, because that’s something that, you know, it’s not going to be there forever."

We absolutely loved this story.

When the Seattle Seahawks advanced to the NFC Championship game, Irvin Garcia quietly bought tickets for his father, who survived a stroke just months ago.

"What to do with all this luscious peace? It is a gift, a miracle, a golden jewel, a fragment of some gracious heavenly order, dropped to earth like some incredible strayed star."

The magic of being left alone. We all need time to ourselves. And that is okay.

“An exquisite peace obtains: a drowsy, golden peace, flowing honey-sweet over my dwelling, soaking it, dripping like music from the walls… A peace for gods; a divine emptiness.”

Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks! We'll be rooting for them at the Superbowl, but we will also be rooting for Baguette (rescued by Seattle Humane), as she has been drafted to play for Team Ruff for the Puppy Bowl!

A Washington puppy is ready for the ‘ruff’ and tumble of the annual Puppy Bowl.

"Trump has brought out the worst in everybody. People are just really emboldened, and it’s a really scary time."

It is truly a scary time for all of us. The Trump regime has squashed our civil rights. People exercising their Constitutional rights are being murdered for speaking out against an authoritarian, who has no loyalty to anyone but himself.

Representative Maxwell Frost says he was assaulted by a man who yelled, “We are going to deport you and your kind.”
