Regulus Counseling

Regulus Counseling A private mental health clinic, serving western Washington, also offering tele-therapy. We hope to embark on that journey with you.

Our clinicians specialize in working with First Responders, Veterans, individuals healing from PTSD and trauma, and individuals with organizational/work stress. Regulus Counseling is a private mental health clinic, serving western Washington, also offering tele-therapy to clients residing in Colorado, Utah, and Florida. Our team of clinicians specialize in guiding clients in their journey into healing from PTSD and other traumas, including helping First Responders and Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) navigate the unique stresses, pressures, and experiences associated with their career, while balancing their family lives; guiding individuals experiencing life or work stresses, in search of transformative change or re-energizing; exploring with new- and first-generation Americans in their journey of the new route in their lives. The common thread among these diverse communities: individuals embarking on their journey towards overall wellness. . In response to the unprecedented health phenomenon, our clinicians are also specialized in tele-therapy— holding sessions through a secure, confidential, HIPAA-compliant platform. Since the beginning of navigation, sailors would use the stars to guide their path during their expeditions. Within Leo the Lion, one of the oldest constellations, lies Regulus, the bright, blue star which marks the lion’s heart, as the lion’s guiding light. Regulus is also known to usher in the Spring season: the season of new beginnings. We believe counseling is a journey: when each person takes the first step in seeking counseling, he or she embarks on an individualistic expedition towards overall wellness. Like the stars— like Regulus— we are your guide in navigating your path in exploration, self-discovery, and healing, harnessing each person’s strength and courage towards personal growth; strength and courage: that of the heart of a lion. We welcome, and are dedicated in helping all individuals embarking on their journey into a new beginning. Our clinicians are licensed in the following states: Washington, Colorado, Utah, and Florida.

"...healing doesn’t mean what’s missing comes back. It means we have adjusted. We have shifted as needed to push forward - to persevere.

“I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.” - D.H. Lawrence

The whole situation was unfair. He was only 8 months old when he stepped into an illegal trap that would cost him one of his front legs.

I cried for him.
I cried for the loss of his limb.
I cried for the injustice of it all.

But he did none of that…

When he woke up from his amputation surgery, he immediately tried to stand. It took him a matter of seconds to realize that the limb wasn’t there and to adjust his weight accordingly so he could still move around.

He didn’t sulk.
He simply adjusted.

In the coming weeks, he taught himself how to dig, hunt and run all over again. Even with only three limbs, he passed all necessary tests for release back into the wild. Up until then, it was assumed that foxes in rehab in our state would not survive in the wild after an amputation. I was thankful the state allowed me the opportunity to test that theory.

He was named Phoenix and he taught us far more than we ever taught him.

We will all experience loss in our lives. Some of those losses can make us move forward in life feeling unwhole. Maybe it’s a break up, the loss of a job or a dream that just didn’t turn out how we hoped it would.

Phoenix taught me that healing doesn’t mean what’s missing comes back. It means we have adjusted. We have shifted as needed to push forward - to persevere.

We are not defined by our losses, but by our strength, our endurance and all we are willing to conquer and overcome. We are forged through the fire.

Not only is it the pressure to succeed, it is also the pressure to meet expectations outside of career.

"... It's to honor and remember the people that have passed away. It's to remember the struggles that we come from and how powerful we are."

"Many employees are uncertain about their future, including one worker who moved to Seattle just six months ago for the job. 'I’m the only one out here and I was just starting to form a community.'"

First Starbucks, now Amazon. These employees are people, the team that built corporations' success-- they should be treated accordingly, and in the least, with humanity.

Amazon announced Monday that it will cut 14,000 corporate jobs, impacting employees across various departments.

"But in the here and now, the First Amendment bars government officials from shutting down peaceful protests, and the Fourth Amendment (along with the District’s prohibition on false arrest) bars groundless seizures."

Pretty sure playing the "Imperial March" does not meet the Clear and Present Danger Doctrine to the First Amendment, nor does it constitute the seizure of the man playing it.

Attorneys for Sam O'Hara said law enforcement violated his constitutional rights.

Why burn out looks different according to the culture you grew up in-- one of the largest stressors is abiding by what your parents expect of you in career choice, and how that conflicts with your personal passions and purpose.

"K9 Roam is not only a valued member of our department but also a symbol of the courage and dedication our officers bring to the community every day. The kindness shown to K9 Roam by our community, nation, and from around the world, is a reminder of why we serve."

Our hearts are with Colorado Springs Police Department's K-9 Roam during his recovery after he was stabbed multiple times while helping to bring a barricaded suspect into custody.

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says the Police Foundation has received more than $68,000 in donations to support K9 Roam's recovery and medical care.

"As we celebrate Errol’s retirement, we honor both his place in judicial history and the legacy that lives on in the countless individuals he helped to find their voice and strength in court."-- Delicia, Ako, Courthouse Dogs Foundation CEO

Happy Retirement to Errol, after 10 years of providing emotional support to crime survivors and witnesses, especially children.

The King County Courthouse was the pioneer in having a courthouse dog-- the first in the nation.

"... when it comes to living a satisfying and meaningful life, agency is actually much more important than the things we usually think about as critical to success..."

The real lever of a meaningful life isn’t intelligence or hustle — it’s personal agency, says Cate Hall, former Supreme Court attorney and once the world’s top-ranked female poker player. Sharing her journey from the throes of addiction to leading a multibillion-dollar foundation, Hall share...
