📣 Food Is NOT Why You’re Bloated! 🤰🏻

I see SO many women falling into this trap…blaming more and more foods and ending up with increasingly restrictive diets 😵‍💫

This restriction is actually one of the *worst* things you can do for gut health! 👎🏻

Sure, food is an easy scapegoat, but it’s not the real reason you’re bloated — the REAL reason is your gut environment, or terrain.

You need to look at what’s actually happening in your gut that’s contributing to your bloat.

One of the most common causes of bloat I see? 👉🏻 Constipation — whether you realize it or not, there’s a high probability you’re constipated.

Even if you’re having a bowel movement every day, you may not be fully emptying, and this can make you bloated (and ironically even more constipated. Fun, I know!) 💩

Then you need to look at the environment of your gut - are there pathogenic overgrowths (or “bad bacteria”) causing over-fermentation of fibers and uncomfortable bloating?

Are there not enough beneficial bacteria, or “good guys,” there to create a healthy gut environment and keep things moving and working as they should?

Are you not actually breaking down and digesting your food properly? (This will 100% make you bloated and backed up).

Getting rid of your bloat is MUCH more than just pulling more and more foods out of your diet.

The way to heal your gut is NOT by way of a restrictive diet like low-FODMAP 🙅🏻‍♀️

It’s getting to the root cause of WHY you’re so bloated in the first place, and addressing those rather than just indefinitely avoiding the foods that cause issues ⤵️

I struggled with constipation and bloat for decades, even while “doing everything right.”

I ate healthy, moved my body, practiced yoga… yet my digestion still didn’t work the way it should.

Even after becoming a nutritionist and working with multiple practitioners, the constipation always came back. It was honestly beyond frustrating.

YES, protein is important and essential…BUT too much of a good thing isn’t always a good thing, especially when we’re talking about constipation ⤵️

Increasing protein when you’re already backed up can actually make you more constipated 😬

This is one of the biggest mistakes I see many of my clients making when they come to me.

If you’re pounding protein bars, protein powders, and loads of protein daily and your body doesn’t have the *capacity* to break it down (whether it’s lack of enzymes, low stomach acid, microbiome imbalances, or something else), it’s going to slowwww things down 👎🏻

STOP constipation in 2026 (and stop carrying that 💩 I know you don’t want from 2025!)

Adding in fiber BEFORE fixing your motility is one of the biggest mistakes I see women making who are struggling with constipation (looking at you 👀).

This will only make your constipation worse. Instead, you need to address your motility first, THEN you can add more fiber 🫘
