It seems only fitting that St. Patrick's Day is one of our favorite days here at The Kenney. After all, our beautiful home in the Emerald City was founded by a couple from the Emerald Isle over 100 years ago! Residents and staff enjoyed many Celtic treats this week, including a potluck at the Ballymena, an outing to O'Donnell's pub downtown, an impromptu flute duo who showed up to play us a few jigs, and of course, a few pinches for those who neglected the wearing o' the green! 🍀

Our first Open House of the year was a rousing success! We loved meeting members of our community and inviting them in to experience all that The Kenney has to offer. Chef Abiyah and her team created a delicious late lunch that provided the perfect compliment to a lovely afternoon. We'll do it again soon... stay tuned!

Our Kenney Singers, directed by Kiki Hood, are a jewel in the Kenney crown! We never know when they will bless us with a concert, but it's always a treat when they do. Monday, February 23 was one of those days. Supported by members of the Prospect Congregational Choir (Kia Sams, director), the Singers offered us a program entitled "Love is Here to Stay," which featured traditional love-themed songs. It was a belated Valentine's Day present enjoyed by everyone ❤️

When we talk about being family here at The Kenney we're not kidding. When Mollie lost one of the tennis balls that helps keep her moving in the right direction, she knew exactly who to call. Sure enough... within minutes Jim was there, tennis balls at the ready and Mollie was soon ready to roll. We're so grateful for residents who care about each other and are always willing to help!

Why would you want to come to our Open House?

a) I'm thinking about downsizing and I don't know where to begin.

b) I don't quite understand the different levels of senior living as they relate to my needs.

c) My parents need help trying to figure out their next move.

d) I really love historic buildings.

e) All of the above 😊

Thank you to the South End Coalition for joining us at The Kenney Senior Living for a networking breakfast earlier this week. It was so energizing to bring professional community partners together to connect and start 2026 off on such a high note!

Our hard working crew at The Kenney enjoyed some well deserved holiday fun last week. Along with a delicious lunch courtesy of our friends at local favorite Husky Deli, we also engaged in a little friendly competition, and were treated to a lovely bonus from our very generous residents.
