Aljoya Thornton Place

Aljoya Thornton Place A lively retirement community where village charm meets contemporary living. The name Aljoya means “happiness” and everything we do evokes a sense of joy.

Whether it’s the warm, friendly residents and staff who greet you each day, your beautifully-designed residence, the fresh and flavorful entrées in our elegant dining room, your morning workout in the saltwater pool, or the peace of mind that comes from our care services – you will find we have so much to offer. Then step outside and you’ll be in the midst of one of Seattle’s newest urban villages – with restaurants, shops, movie theaters, and nature trails around Thornton Creek. If you love the energy of city life but don’t want to live downtown, this is the community for you.

Many thanks for a festive and wonderful holiday show!

Yesterday was the last performance of our 🎅 "Santa's Logistical Team" show for the year, at Aljoya Thornton Place. What a great crowd. We got goosebumps when the whole room sang along to classic Christmas favorites. The hot buttered rum probably helped, too! ☕️🥃

Only two more chances to hear us sing this holiday season!

Come see us carol in the lobby at the 2pm performance of Pacific Northwest Ballet's Nutcracker today (Fri 12/19), or at all three sailings of the Argosy Christmas Ship on Monday 12/22, leaving from Kirkland.

We'll be singing a selection of our songs for your holiday enjoyment! 🎄

Many of our residents and staff are prominently featured in Era Living’s recent “Red-Carpet” customer service training videos. At our recent watch party, we recognized all of our stars by bringing the red-carpet Oscar experience to life! Recreation Assistant Laurie Hile served as our smiling emcee.
