Registration is now OPEN for our Spring 2023 Coping Skills Groups!

- - -

Have you noticed that your old strategies for helping your child just haven't been working? Do you want them to build skills that they can use right away at home and school? Is individual therapy just too expensive right now?

Consider joining a Coping Skills Group.

Kids and teens need coping skills now more than ever, and we are offering several groups designed to reduce the barriers many families face in accessing care.

Can't find a ride? Coping Skills Groups meet online.
Can't sit still for long? Coping Skills Groups are only 45-50 mins.
Can't afford therapy? Coping Skills Groups are only $40/week.
Need to use your insurance? You can do that!

So who could benefit from a Coping Skills Group?

- Families with a "do it yourself" mentality
- Families on waitlists but not yet seeing a therapist
- Families who are in therapy but want additional skills
- Families who want to try something different
- Families who are ending therapy

We expect these groups to fill up fast, so register now to save your spot.

Now Starting May 15th!

We are happy to announce that we have new dates for our online Parent-Infant Connection Group.

For 6 weeks, you'll get to join a community of parents who are in the parenting weeds right alongside you and use creative & expressive techniques to increase your confidence as a parent and connection with your infant.

Not sure if you can afford to participate? We know babies are expensive, so we have reduced the cost of the group to less than the average copay, and scholarships are also available.

Schedule a risk-free initial call with one of the group facilitators by contacting our office.

Parenting is hard.

All the classes, the blogs, the books, and the well-meaning advice-givers just can't prepare you for the reality of day-to-day life with an infant.

It's hard.
It's messy.
It's loud.
There's sticky stuff in strange places.
It's hard. (I know, I know, but it needed to be said again)

If the hard is harder than you thought it would be, you are not alone. That's why we've developed this virtual parent-infant connection group! For 8 weeks, you'll get to join a community of parents who are in the parenting weeds right alongside you and use creative & expressive techniques to increase your confidence as a parent and connection with your infant.

This group is facilitated by therapy interns Shanti Friedman, Sarah Barak, and Alexandria Scalone. They bring a wealth of experience and training in play therapy, family therapy, art therapy, and parenthood.

If you are interested in signing up, just email us at clientcare@atlascounselingseattle.com. Our Client Care Team will connect you with one of the group facilitators for a risk-free initial call before you fully commit to the group. Scholarships are available based on financial need on a first come, first serve basis.

We know it's hard to talk to little kids about the big stuff. When do you start having those conversations? How do you bring it up? What is the right way to speak that won't go totally over their short little heads?

Parenting doesn't come with a handbook, but we are here to help!

On March 4, Atlas Counseling is launching a FREE weekly online social emotional story time for preschoolers and their parents. Bond with your child and harness the power of storytelling to have those big conversations with your little kids.

Interested in learning more? Just email us at clientcare@atlascounselingseattle.com. Already bought in and want to join for FREE? You can access our sign-up form below to get our weekly emails and meeting links!

Cristina is an Associate Therapist at Atlas Counseling.

We asked Cristina why she uses play therapy. Her response?
"Why NOT use play therapy?! Play therapy is not only developmentally appropriate and enriching, it is also a wonderfully impactful modality for children and their families. Not only that... we can be providers who can treat various needs and administer it with some fun!"
..

Cristina is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has a master’s degree in family therapy and a graduate certificate in play therapy. She does her best work with quirky and creative kids, and she is especially interested in helping kids and families find creative ways to communicate.
