This season has been challenging, especially for the families we serve. Despite the unknowns and insecurity, they continue fighting for a better life for their children, for quality education, mental health support, and healthy family relationships. Parents push past their fears to give their children the best possible chance at a safe, stable and sustainable life.

If I speak my truth, if I dare to be more powerful than I’ve allowed myself to be, it will cost me. Being small has kept me safe, but all smallness did was gives me time without addressing the problem. My fear was bigger than my voice…

“Working with a counselor at Southeast changed my life like I never thought was possible or needed. I came for help with my work challenges, but the therapy got so much deeper and bigger.

I had to deal with past trauma and made the biggest decision to confront people in my family so I could heal and not be stuck. I was scared of what might happen, but it made me stronger in other areas and relationships.

My counselor helped me see that I’m stronger than my fears and I’m very grateful for her support and Southeast Youth and Family Services for the opportunity to find her.”
