Circle of Friends for Mental Health Our programs serve as a natural enduring catalyst to aid people in their recovery.

Circle of Friends cultivates a community founded on acceptance by empowering those with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges through creative self-expression in Arts. Circle of Friends for Mental Health, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, exists to give all human beings who face mental health challenges, homelessness or addiction, a fresh chance to find their identity and a reservoir of healing through art programs in visual arts, music, writing and drama. The people we serve have wide-ranging needs, and come from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

Last night, Circle of Friends for Mental Health onboarded a record 42 service learning students as volunteers!

After two years of zero programming, we came back fall quarter with 4 students. For Winter, we had 22 students who volunteered 841 service hours. We now have 42 students, 7 community partners and over 10 pathways for students to choose.

If I was a betting man, I’d say we will break 1000 community service hours this quarter alone! I can’t wait to see what we can do together!

It's that time again for UW students to choose their Service Learning experiences for Spring Quarter 2022. Don't look any further, Circle of Friends for Mental Health has a number of pathways and partners to choose from! Check out more here!

Volunteer with community-based organizations as part of a course. Community-engaged courses combines service in the community with structured preparation and reflection opportunities, and address concerns that are identified and articulated by the community.

We can hardly believe it! After a crazy start to the quarter, we ended up with 21 Service-Learning students through the UW CELE Center who volunteered a RECORD 841 community service hours across all of our program pathways!
