There’s a kind of knowing that only arrives when you stop reaching for it.

I used to think presence meant paying closer attention. Looking harder. Thinking better. It doesn’t. Presence is what’s left when you stop imposing your version on the moment and let the moment show you its own.

The horse knows the way. The owl sees in the dark. Your body has been trying to tell you something for years.

The less you impose, the more you perceive.

Before words, there was frequency. Before language, there was expression.

The throat remembers.

If you’ve spent years swallowing your truth to keep the peace — your thyroid knows. The vagus nerve runs straight through your throat, linking voice to safety, to inflammation, to identity itself.

Your symptoms aren’t random. They are your body’s secret language.

This is what's been on my mind lately. I'm wondering if anyone else can relate.

This is what's been on my mind lately. I'm wondering if anyone else can relate.

Why getting everything I wanted didn’t make me happy

Holding everything together can start to feel normal, so normal that stopping feels unfamiliar.
Sometimes control doesn’t loosen because trust appears; it loosens because exhaustion makes managing unsustainable. And when the grip softens, life doesn’t collapse. Presence returns.
It began as an experiment—quietly stepping back from outcome-management, not as a spiritual practice or performance, but because the constant managing had started to cost more than it gave. What followed wasn’t chaos. It was noticing what was actually happening, instead of bracing for what might.

You enter this world on an inhale. You leave it on an exhale.

Between those two breaths, the lungs record everything. Every sob you swallowed.
Every word couldn’t say, all the moments you braced against life instead of breathing it in.
When the lungs struggle, it’s rarely about oxygen. It’s about everything you couldn’t let in and couldn’t release. The breath you’ve been holding is the life you’ve been afraid to claim.

What are you ready to release? This is the last entry in the series, Decoding the Secret Language of Your Body. Click the “Your Body Knows” link in bio to read more.

What’s getting under your skin?
The boundary you didn’t enforce.

The anger you never voiced.
The truth you hid to stay loved.

Your skin reacts to the emotions you repress.

Before the mind admits it.
Before the voice can say it.
Your skin speaks in sensation.
Heat, tightness, tenderness.

Listen. It’s your soul revealing what’s ready to release. This is the fifth in the series, Decoding the Secret Language of Your Body. Click the “Your Body Knows” link in bio to read more.

You learned to swallow your words. Your thyroid learned to hold them.
Now your body is exhausted, because what you don’t express, you store.
Thyroid dysfunction isn’t just hormonal. It’s decades of silenced truth crystallizing into symptoms.
Your voice has waited long enough.
When will you be ready to speak your truth?

This is the third in the series, Decoding the Secret Language of Your Body. In the last piece, we explored how trauma and emotions are stored in the gut — where anger, shame and courage live. Now we move into our throat, the home to our thyroid, the body’s command center and the soul’s authentic voice. Click the “Your Body Knows” link in bio to read more.

The gut always knows first.
It tightens when something’s off. It drops when bad news arrives. It churns when you’re about to betray yourself. Long before your mind assembles the evidence, your gut delivers the verdict: nourishing or toxic, yes or no.

This is the third in the series Decoding the Secret Language of Your Body. In the last piece, we explored the heart—where love and grief are held. Now we descend lower, to the gut: your inner guardian, the seat of instinct, the place where power either flows or fractures. What is your gut telling you? Before breath, before feeling, there was rhythm, heart.
The heart is the first organ to form. It pulses before the brain is born. It sets the tone. It listens, stores, transmits. It is not just muscle — it is memory.
This is the first in a series Decoding the Secret Language of your Body, where I breakdown the emotions carried by our major organs and decode the language of their symptoms. Here we start where life begins: the heart. Click the “Your Body Knows” link in bio to read more.

“The art of living... is neither careless drifting on the one hand nor fearful clinging to the past on the other. It consists in being sensitive to each moment, in regarding it as utterly new and unique, in having the mind open and wholly receptive.” — Alan Watts
