Please note, I have not tried these, nor have my clients, but after reading the reviews, I am intrigued!

Many report less fatigue at the end of the day and increased ability to work through noisy environments (e.g., classrooms came to mind), without impeding hearing.

If you try them, please let us know your thoughts!

This sounds like an amazing program!

Neuroscience for Neurodiverse Learners (NNL), a program in which neurodiverse teens explore neuroscience disciplines, network, and learn self-advocacy in hopes of pursuing STEM studies in college. The program is run by the DO-IT Center, a non-profit based at the University of Washington that helps people with disabilities find success through technology and education. DO-IT stands for Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology.

"The House of Representatives narrowly passed a bill called the Limit, Save, Grow Act on April 26th. The bill aims to raise the government’s debt ceiling for one year in exchange for significant cuts to programs important to people with Autism that would be locked in place for the next decade. This includes work requirements for Medicaid that could result in millions losing access. The work requirements apply to all Medicaid pathways, including for those on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and home and community-based services (HCBS) waivers. People with disabilities would need a doctor or other medical professional to deem them “physically or mentally unfit for employment” to be exempt from the work rules.

We must act now to prevent these drastic cuts that will harm individuals and families who depend on supports and services to live and work in the community."

"An ankyloglossia, or tethered oral tissue, also named tongue-tie, can be the cause of medical conditions that are not routinely diagnosed. Headaches, shoulder and neck pain can be caused by tight muscles attached to the hyoid bone. With a tongue-tie those suprahyoid muscles are typically tight, pulling on the tongue when it attempts to function, but cannot because it is anchored to the floor of the mouth. This restricts the tongue from normal movement and function. The tongue has many duties, including maintaining the airway, assisting with chewing, swallowing, and most importantly facial development, speech and digestion."

Many ask why clinics are slowly dropping contracts with different insuance companies, here is one reason why.

Not only have we not had a raise from some companies in over 20 years, some are now DECREASING rates. Please start writing your HR departments, government officials, and point of contact for your insurance and let them know what a hardship this on families!

Cuts coming to reimbursements by TRICARE will impact clinics, patients affiliated with the military and potentially nearly all of us in Kitsap.
