Hello I’m back to share my next week of care!

I started off the week with my first re-exam. Re-exams allow the doctors to be able to compare your exam from when you first come in to the present and show you your progress. My first re-exam was wild because I could remember the tests from my first exam, and things felt very different. After the re-exam, I got adjusted and I had a LOT of sublaxations all through my back. I also had misalignments of my p***c bone and hip/femur joints. Even though I had so many sublaxations, I was still doing a lot better than my first weeks of care, so Dr. Becky let me graduate to two visits per week, rather than three!

On my second visit of the week, we addressed my acid reflux and that right hip pain that was giving me grief earlier in the week. My p***c bone and hip were out again, but I was holding my other adjustments pretty well. I had a lot fewer sublaxations and the adjustments definitely helped that pain and tightness I was feeling in my lower right half of my body. That’s all for this week of care updates. Check back for more next week!

It’s Annie with my continuing progression from starting treatment at Long Chiropractic Center.

The fourth week of treatment was all about leveling out. I felt a lot better after my atlas set the prior week, but because my nervous system was letting things move around a lot more freely, I definitely had some residual symptoms. I was feeling better as far as nausea and dizziness, but my right hip and lower back were stiff and my sciatica was causing my right toes and foot to go numb. After getting adjusted for that on Wednesday, the Friday adjustment was smooth sailing. I ended the week with a little stiffness and soreness, but was feeling a huge difference from the week before. I had been experiencing dizziness and nausea for months and months off and on at that point, so it was a huge relief to not be feeling as wonky for the weekend.

After an all too brief vacation ;), I am back to tell you about my third week of care at Long Chiropractic.

I had been experiencing a bit of nausea, as well as hip pain and stiffness, and looking at my records, it shows by how many sublaxations I got adjusted that week! Dr. Becky and I decided to back off on manual neck adjustments for a few weeks starting this week, just to see if my nausea would subside. I had so much moving around in my nervous system by starting treatment, that my body was still on sensory overload a little bit. I continued seeing Dr. Becky for three times this week, after the first two weeks of care, but I had been correcting life-long imbalances and maladies, so it made sense to me that my body might need a little extra time and care in the first stage of care. By Friday of that week, my atlas had gone out again, so I had it readjusted. I felt better immediately after, but not as good as the first time I had it set. It was a lot more subtle, but my headache and nausea did go away right away. Follow up next week to see if I ended up feeling better and if my atlas held!

Hello everyone! It’s Annie back to talk about my second week of treatment here at Long Chiropractic Center. My first week was about relieving a muscle spasm. My second week, I had a massage and acupuncture, and that along with three days of chiropractic treatment was too much for my body to handle. My atlas went out again after the massage and the whole week I was feeling out of sorts physically, and a little mentally. After I told Dr. Becky how I was feeling, we decided to back off from manual cervical adjustments (hands-on neck adjustments), and also decided my nervous system was being overloaded, so I should wait for another massage for a little while. The second atlas set I ever had was great, but a little less dramatic than the first in terms of how I felt after. I DID get really tired after this one, whereas the first atlas set I experienced made me feel more energized. The spasm was already feeling better, so we were able to address the underlying problems that created the spasm in the first place. As far as treatment goes, I had a lot of sublaxations up and down my spine the entire week, so we did a lot of activator and drop-table adjustments in a lot of places. By the end of my second week, I was starting to feel less pain, but was still encountering a lot of stiffness in my right hip and lower back after sitting even for short periods of time. Come back next week to check out my third week of care here!

If you are a regular patient at Long Chiropractic Center, you may have seen me around the last couple of months. I’m Annie, and I am also someone who experiences chronic back and hip pain even though I am 32, so we thought it’d be interesting to share my story since I have started treatment since starting work here.

I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 10 and have been battling back pain ever since. The first time my back “went out” was when I was 13. Since then, muscle spasms have been the norm. About three years ago, it got so bad I had to miss work for 2 weeks straight. I have been treating it with chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, steroid shots and, finally, private pilates classes. I hadn’t found the correct mix of treatment, and then...

The week I started working at Long Chiropractic, I had a low back muscle spasm, so they started crisis care almost immediately. During the first week of care, I had my atlas set and noticed an improvement immediately. I was feeling horrible that day with a headache and nausea, and once it was set, I felt like a normal human again. I couldn’t get over it. Another effect from having my atlas set just that first time, was that my pilates instructor could immediately see a difference in my posture and bilateral strength.

All that said, my first week of chiropractic care here was pretty incredible and even a little life changing. I finally feel like I am pursuing the correct treatment path (chiropractic, massage, acupuncture and pilates), and am able to enjoy life more in my free time. Stay tuned to learn about my weekly progress!
