How does sclerotherapy work?
Here’s how it works, step by step:
1. A doctor injects a sclerosing agent directly into the problem vein.
2. The sclerosant irritates and damages the inner lining of the vein (the endothelium). This causes:InflammationThe vein walls to stick together3. As the walls adhere, the vein collapses and seals shut, stopping blood flow through that vessel.
4. Blood naturally reroutes to nearby healthy veins, so circulation isn’t harmed.
5. Over weeks to months, the closed vein turns into scar tissue and is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body. Becomes less visible or disappears entirely
Are you ready to get rid of those pesky spider veins?

Hi Yall!

Dr. Ellen has been practicing vascular medicine in Seattle for close to a decade. She accepts patients directly or through a referral from your primary care physician. If you or your doctor is concerned about your risk for a potential blood clot, she has the ability to evaluate, consult and treat using diagnostic ultrasound. If you have concerns about peripheral arterial disease, Dr. Ellen has the ability to diagnose and offer a treatment plan with same day ultrasound and consultation. Using Cardiac Risk Stratification, Dr. Ellen can also evaluate your risk of heart disease or potential for stroke. She offers in-office procedures for varicose vein and spider vein treatment. From Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), which is often the result of undiagnosed venous disease, to painful pelvic varicose veins; Dr. Ellen’s first concern is always that of her patients’ welfare and comfort.
