HMC volunteers Brian and Isaac recently completed their applications for the Physician Assistant program. They have both worked in the Emergency Department for over a year and have found the experience to be extremely helpful and rewarding. Many ED volunteers continue on to other health related careers after getting patient contact experience. We also had another ED volunteer start medical school this month!

Meet our awesome 2018 summer intern Faduma! She comes from Chief Sealth International High School and will be a rising freshman this Fall at the University of Washington.

Here is what she aspires to learn from her internship:

“What I am hoping to learn from my internship at Harborview is to expand my profession, communications, independence, confidence and decide if the medical field is the right path for me.”

Currently, Faduma is reading to the children in the Pediatric Clinic, front desk staffing at the Resource Center, office assistant helping with general task in the Volunteer Office. We are excited to have her for the summer!
