SOL Yoga

SOL Yoga SOL is a Power Vinyasa Yoga Studio. From SOL Vinyasa, Slow Flow, Vinyasa 1+, Vinyasa 2+ and Restore Sol (n) Latin Sōl: Sun.

A self-luminous heavenly body

Sol Yoga is a neighborhood studio that specializes in Power Vinyasa Yoga. Our teachers each have a minimum RYT certification of 200 hours to ensure a safe and effective class for all levels of practitioners. In Power Vinyasa Yoga, we pair breath (pranayama), movement (asana) and heat (tapas) in a demanding and athletic practice designed to leave you feeling sweaty, strong and free of stress. Each teacher brings their own sequencing and music to each class to add a unique touch. The Power Vinyasa style has universal appeal because it is accessible, yet challenging, to each person in the room. Although we sweat and work hard, every pose can be modified to challenge both beginners and advanced yogis alike. You come as you are and work with what you have. The end result is feeling a sense of accomplishment, gratitude for your physical ability and mental clarity. Sol Yoga is a warm, inviting and community-centered studio that is committed to improve the practice of every person who walks in the door. We sit on the beautiful western shore of Lake Washington in the Leschi Lakecenter adjacent to the Leschi marina. We maintain a 90 degree climate controlled studio, provide rental mats, towels, water and more free parking than we could ever use!

November in Seattle means grey skies, cold rain, and that damp chill that settles into everything.

But inside? It’s warm. Welcoming. A place to land when the weather outside feels heavy.
The studio is here when you need somewhere soft to show up, heated classes to thaw you out, gentle movement to help you settle, and a community that gets it.

Come in from the cold.
Check out our class schedule today.

Your body’s been trying to tell you something.

Racing thoughts that won’t stop. Shoulders that live up by your ears. Sleep that never quite feels restful. Snapping at small things. Feeling wired and exhausted at the same time.

These are signs your nervous system needs rest — not just sleep, but actual regulation.
Swipe to see all 5 signs (and what actually helps) 👉

Speaking of regulation — tomorrow night we have Live Music Restore with Chris Haugen. 6:30 PM in SOL Down. Props, longer holds, live music, and space for your body to fully let go.

You don’t need to be on your mat every single day for yoga to change things.

But showing up regularly — even just once or twice a week — creates a kind of rhythm your body starts to recognize. Your nervous system begins to settle a little faster. You notice tension before it builds into tightness. You remember that your breath is always there when you need it.
It’s not about perfecting poses or reaching some goal. It’s about building a relationship with yourself that’s rooted in consistency, not intensity.

What does regular practice look like for you?

Come as you are, as often as you can. We’ll be here.

Notice where you’re holding tension right now. Hips? Neck? Shoulders?
These are the places stress likes to settle in and make itself at home.

November 2nd | 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM

Join us for SOL Reset: Hips & Deep Stretch — a 75-minute practice that gives you permission to slow down and soften. We’ll blend gentle activation with long, restorative stretches targeting the hips, neck, and shoulders.

What if going upside down wasn’t about being strong enough or flexible enough — but just about learning how to do it safely?

November 1st from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Lisa Black is teaching Foundations of Inversions, and it’s designed for exactly where you are right now. No inversion experience needed. No prerequisites. Just curiosity and a willingness to try.

We’ll start with proper warm-ups and prep work, then explore how to use the wall for support as you build confidence. From there, Lisa will guide you through tripod, handstand, forearm balance, headstand, and shoulder stand — breaking down each one so it actually makes sense in your body.

Already practicing inversions? Lisa will share variations to help you refine and take things further.

Her approach is clear, supportive, and rooted in keeping you safe while having fun with it.

All levels welcome.
