“Our books are meant to be taken on road trips and adventures, marked up and dog-eared, and used as a resource for future projects… Piney Wood Atlas is a labor of love, a project made by artists, for artists.”

12 years ago, Carolina Porras Monroy and Alicia Toldi met at an artist residency—an experience that would go on to shape a lasting creative partnership, and years of road trips across the United States.

Together, they created "Piney Wood Atlas," a series of field guides documenting small, emerging, and unconventional artist residencies across the United States.

Now in its sixth edition, the project continues to grow, archiving artist residencies via discussions with facilitators and artists, photographs, and hand-drawn illustrations.

At its core, "Piney Wood Atlas" is about connection. Linking creative thinkers with spaces where they can experiment, expand, and find new ways of working.

In "Botanico, A Year in the Food Forest," sustainability researcher and designer Liz Eve documents life inside Café Botanico in Berlin, where permaculture is practiced as a shared philosophy.

Over the course of a year, Eve immersed herself in the edible forest garden—documenting its seasonal rhythms through interviews, photography, and close study of the land and the people who tend it.

It’s a quiet, intentional work that reflects a deeper question: What does it mean to design with nature, and with each other, in mind? 🌱

Rebecca Ashworth Earle has built her life around dogs: training them, working with them, learning from them, and photographing them.

"The Joy of Dogs" documents over a decade of Earle's canine photography, capturing the blissful but fleeting moments that every dog lover knows well: "how the puppy softness fades, how muzzles turn grey, how walks become shorter, quieter."

Bringing her images to print allows Earle to best showcase her work at trade fairs or to clients. More importantly, her book serves as a tangible reminder of why she loves what she does (and who she does it for 🐾).

For SCAPE Landscape Architecture, sustainable design begins with active listening.

For over two years, they led a multidisciplinary team across seven counties to shape the future of the Chattahoochee RiverLands—hosting charrettes, public forums, focus groups, and river outings with nearly 290 community groups to develop a comprehensive final report that captured a shared vision for the region.

To bring that vision into stakeholders’ hands, SCAPE leveraged Blurb's volume order discount and simple reprint option to distribute copies to clients and collaborators without committing to excess inventory.

It was a flexible way to print sustainably, aligned with the very principles the project champions.🌿

Our work starts with the creative communities we’re part of. That’s why it’s so important for us to stay connected in real life.

Last week, Björn van Hamond from our European office attended Unseen Book Fair and Rotterdam Photo, where the arts, photography, and print come together.

Now hosted at the Nederlands Fotomuseum, home to a collection of over 6.5 million photographic works, Unseen feels deeply rooted in both the history and future of the medium.

Events like these keep us inspired and connected to the makers, ideas, and conversations shaping what comes next.
