What happens when architectural documentary film meets print? A sold-out run!

Filmmaker and photographer Elena Tibbetts has spent years documenting D.C.’s historic homes—and her new book, "Architectural Guide of Washington, D.C.," was so popular you'll have to wait for the next print run to get your hands on it.

"The response has honestly been humbling and spectacular," Tibbets shares. "I've had multiple invitations for book signing events and was able to get copies in museums, book stores, and cultural institutions."

Backed by a successful Kickstarter, the project shows what happens when preservation, design, and craft converge on the page.

In this Behind the Book, Tibbetts talks about translating film to print, marketing a book, and the advice she has for other creators (like you).

"Urban Encounters" captures Miami’s cyclists not as subjects, but as part of the city’s pulse.

Created by photographer Alex Beker, the series blends his background in street photography, graphic design, and art direction—resulting in images that favor honesty over perfection and emotion over staging.

Four years in the making, the project grew from a simple idea into a heartfelt expression of gratitude: “Their constant support and appreciation have meant the world to me,” Beker says of the cycling community. “The city and its people naturally intertwine with the rhythm of the sport.”

For years, photographer and creator Marc Karzen helped shape the visual world of Late Night with David Letterman—designing the surreal, clever bumper images that appeared before and after commercial breaks.

His book, "Late Night Bumpers," brings together decades of on-air photography, from spontaneous shoots to carefully staged visual jokes. It’s a nostalgic look at how handmade creativity shaped one of the most influential shows in late-night television.

“We developed the idea of having ‘no logo’ as a theme for the bumpers," he shares. "Over time, the tail logo I designed as an idea for a Letterman jacket became the official logo for the show.”

It’s a testament to how small creative risks can become lasting cultural moments.
