📢Health Alert: Measles remains a growing concern in Washington. Most cases are among children, and the MMR vaccine remains our most effective tool to prevent further spread.

Measles continues to pose a serious public health concern in Washington and across the country. We have confirmed 26 measles cases across four counties this year, marking an increase from the three cases reported in a single county January 16. We’re so grateful to the North Sound ACH for hosting a thoughtful convening on addressing food insecurity. 💜

It was a privilege to be part of the conversation and for Karina Wiggins, Help Me Grow Program Director at WithinReach, to share how Help Me Grow Washington connects families to essential resources — from SNAP (Basic Food) and WIC to a full range of supports that help children and families thrive.

Thank you to our incredible presenters for helping make our Basic Food Education Forum on 2/25 such a meaningful space for learning and connection. 💜

We’re especially grateful to Svitlana Myrna and Ayan Mohamed from Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA) for sharing their expertise, reflecting honestly on strategies and challenges, and offering real-world insights from the field.

We’re also thankful to our partners at the Washington State DSHS — Mario Padauno and Anh Ong — for helping ensure we understand program updates and emerging challenges as they unfold.
