The Alchemy of Reconciliation: Awakening the Mysteries of Love between the Masculine and Feminine was ALIVE and vibrating at a high frequency last weekend at The Hive Retreat Center near Grand Rapids, Michigan (US), April12-15.

Everyone who participated in this Gender Equity and Reconciliation International (GERI) workshop showed up with such authentic sharings that included stories of heartbreak in romantic and familial relationships –– mothers to sons, and fathers to daughters –– and, a longing for unconditional love and acceptance. Deep concern and righteous anger was expressed and held in the sacred container of our hearts, regarding gender injustices that are impacting us all, in every part of the world.

The workshop included yoga each morning and Grof Breathwork on one of the days. Aurosavithri Savithri, and Ava Brennan, GERI interns, offered dance and live music.

We were blessed to have a team of GERI Trainers facilitating this workshop, Michele Breene, Hugo Sanchez, Cynthia Brix and William Keepin, It was a joy to have with us GERI facilitator, Kristin Lietz, from our Latin American team and longtime GERI friend and GERI Companion, Dennis Sturtz.

The workshop concluded with beautiful honoring ceremonies. The women offered a sound bath followed by a trust walk, guiding the men on a journey from their birth to the present day, and along the way affirming the positive qualities of each man. The men offered foot massages to the women, and then invited each woman one-by-one into the circle of men, who showered her with affirmations and then chanted “Om” in unison as an expression of masculine support and blessing.

Deep gratitude to Julian Lauzzana for the invitation to bring GERI to Michigan, and to Leah Grace, founder of the Somatic Wisdom Institute and, the Rev. Micheal Rocque from Unity of Grand Rapids for co-partnering with GERI for this event!

WOW! What a powerful session yesterday, March 16, at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) NGO Forum in New York City!

“This was the BEST session I have attended across the entire CSW,” several people in the audience said.

A BIG Shoutout to our GERI team, Lora Freeman, Hugo Sanchez, Konyka Dunson, and Mike Oreskes who presented the 90-minute session sharing the origins of GERI and the global impact the work has had over the past 34 years. The audience was also invited into a few experiential GERI processes.

Our special guest, Dr. Konyka Dunson presented her academic research exploring how GERI's methodology of deep cross-gender dialogue creates unique experiences of gender equity, which in turn become a catalyst for social change.

Wonderful connections were made with new friends. By the end of the session, nobody wanted to leave!
