1. It's hard getting the kids into a group shot. This social distancing, pandemic call to reflect upon where we put our attention led me to repot these plants in my office. We'd never took a group shot before either. All of this also had me reflecting on how we decide which of us get support. We say some are vulnerable but do we give them the attention they need and deserve. In this group shot the oldest most fragile plant got in the front. Counter to the tall plants in the back mentality type of notion of equity, the position in front will likely get the most light from both windows, honors it's elder wisdom, and is surrounded by family watching it's back. 6. I'm also aware that we will likely continue to lose elders in the coming weeks. This elder decided to gift it's home to a younger plant. This elder rests in the power of it's participation in our community. We have much to learn from our elders still now and always. If you are blessed to still have elders in your lives, take the time to connect if you have that sort of relationship with them. If not, light a candle for the elders who've impacted you through their words, actions, or presence whether they are aware of it or not. Also special shout out to for inspiration around process with the natural world. Even though their office bound, the conversation with them felt powerful and helps me to integrate everything going on in the world. To those out there looking for sense, in all the nonesense, you're not alone. Meaning and hopefulness feel out there if we listen, connect with ourselves, and respect each other in that process. @ Hillman City, Seattle
