Excellence is about understanding why things work and why they fail.

Biomechanics is the language behind predictable dentistry.

2026 is off to a strong start.

Not because I’m doing more, but because I’m clearer, firmer, and more convicted in how I lead.

This year is grounded in the values I set with intention:
• growth, personally and professionally
• real time with my family
• stronger systems inside Shelton Solutions
• and deeper conviction in the work I do with my clients

Here’s what I’m noticing already:
• We’re laughing more. (At home, in office, and all zoom. F yes)
• We’re building wiser.
• Our tolerance is down.
• And our success is up.

My commitment to my clients, and to the belief that dentists deserve to be prosperous in their health, their life, their patient care, and the way their practice supports them, is more certain than ever.

You’ve invested years of your life. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in education and business, which I would argue is only a cost or risk if you’re not implementing and profitable! And too much energy to still feel unsure about boundaries, standards, and guardrails.

If you don’t know where to start, chat me up.
If you’ve been here a while, say hi more.
Wells loves saying hi 🤍

And if you want a deeper look at how I think about leadership, systems, and ex*****on, I’m joining the Practice CFO podcast every two weeks to share the view through the lens of a fractional COO, because at the end of the day, that’s what I am.

Last thing, and I mean this with respect: Stop being cheap with your goals. And stop being generous with your tolerance. That same cheapness and tolerance will leak into your operatory and spread to your team.

2026. Same me. Clearer standards. Stronger mission. Still listening to Taylor.

*not pictured, the sacrifices and late nights required to lead this life. There is no exemption from hard work.

Open your mind. Optimize your systems. Improve your life.

Kois trained dentists are passionate about what they do.

They look forward to Monday. They love the work week and they love to work with their patients. It’s a different kind of dentistry. Everyone here is passionate about what they do or they wouldn’t be here. all we are trying to do is make them better so they are not just a good dentist, they are a great dentist. Their patients are their friends, neighbors, and they see them in the grocery store and they want to be proud of what they’ve done.

The Kois Center is part of an educational network inspired by John Kois and populated by Kois trained dentists who have made a commitment to a rigorous education program. Many Graduates go on to become Mentors and Clinical Instructors returning to help the next generation of dentists go from good to great. the collaboration of these members has created an ever expanding knowledge base at the Center and is a pathway for extraordinary professional growth.
