Hello patients of Utopian Hands Massage Therapy,

Due to the recent mandate that was given last night by Governor Jay Inslee, I will temporarily shut down my practice until the mandated date of March 31, 2020. I will plan on reopening on April 1st, unless otherwise directed by our Local, State or Federal agencies.

These are extraordinary times for everyone. As a community we all must do what is necessary to fight this virus. I urge everyone to follow the CDC guidelines so that we can get back to normal sooner rather than later.

My heart is heavy for the disruption and pain that is now pervasive throughout our world.

If you are already on the schedule for massage after April 1st lovely. If your last massage appointment on the calendar is during this time period, please either email me days and times that work for you or if you prefer to go online and schedule that works too.

Please feel free to call me either on the office line 206-933-7499 or on my cell 253-223-1751 with any questions or concerns.

Be safe and please stay healthy.

With sorrow,

Tierza Clerc

February is American Heart Month. Studies have show that massage is effective in reducing blood pressure. Studies have found that massage was better than medication in lowering systolic blood pressure (no significant change with diastolic pressure). Massage along with medication was significantly more effective in reducing blood pressure. Read all about the studies in this article posted in Massage and Bodywork magazine. If you are looking to add massage to help manage your health, please consult with your doctor and massage therapist. Please only receive massage therapy if your blood pressure is being monitored by a doctor.

Hi everyone, my apologies for not having a trivia question in a while!

The answer to last times question what film won best picture was Argo.

The prize this week is a fun thing that I found in Thailand a while ago and is now making its way here to the states. It is great for kids and for those of us who still have a kid inside...you throw them against any surface they splatt and get flat then come back to their previous shape. You get your choice of tomato, strawberry, pig, happy face and eyeball.

The question for this week is "what fresh-water mollusks produce red or pink colored pearls?"

It's Sunday again so time for the answer to last weeks trivia question and the posting for this weeks question.

The question for last week "Why is the elbow called the funny bone?" answer- the long bone that the biceps are connected to is the humerus. So we nick-named the elbow the funny bone.

The question for this week. "Who is the author of the Hunger Games?"

The prize this week is a container (store packaged) of gingerbread pancake mix (or waffle). They are delicious we have made them a lot this winter!

You can send the answer to me via a facebook email or email utopianhandsmassagetrivia@gmail.com. Please send in only to these two options.
