What is the MIDAS Score?
The Migraine Disability Assessment MIDAS Questionnaire is a simple, standardized tool used by doctors and patients to measure the impact of migraines on a person’s daily life.
How is the MIDAS score calculated?
The score is the sum of days missed or days with limited productivity from three areas over a 3-month period:
- Missed work or school
- Missed household chores
- Missed social, family, or leisure activities
- Limited productivity at work or school
- Limited productivity in household chores
Understanding Your MIDAS Grade
The MIDAS score ranges from 0 to 270.
The score is categorized into 4 grades of disability:
- Grade I (Little or no disability): 0–5
- Grade II (Mild disability): 6–10
- Grade III (Moderate disability): 11–20
- Grade IV (Severe disability): 21+
A score of 11 or higher indicates a moderately limiting disability that may warrant a discussion about management approaches and treatment selection with a doctor.
