School has begun! Teachers, it's so important to practice self-care always. Here are few easy snack recipes to keep you from eating too many sweet treats 😉

Quick, Easy, and Healthy Teacher Snacks
By Energize the Teacher

“Mindfully planning for snack time is the best way to keep from binge-eating those sweets that seem to be so readily available.”

Ideas for healthy snacks that are easy to prepare: veggie sticks, kale chips, cheese slices, hard-boiled eggs, fruit (fresh and/or dried), nuts, and seeds. If you like nut butter (almond or cashew), that goes well with celery. Organic roasted seaweed is a healthy, inexpensive snack as well. Here are some quick recipes:

Kale Chips
1 or 2 bunches of kale
Olive oil
Sea salt
Parmesan cheese

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°
2. Cut off kale stocks, leaving greens in a large bunch
3. Place kale in a bowl with a light drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt; mix well with hands.
4. Bake on a cookie sheet for 3 minutes. Keep an eye on it because kale can burn easily.
5. Add Parmesan cheese and bake another 2 minutes.
6. Remove and add to containers to enjoy at work.

Quick & Healthy Snack Mix
½ cup of Almonds or cashew nuts
¼ cup of Pumpkin seeds (plain or dry roasted)
¼ cup of Sunflower seeds
¼ cup of Raisins
¼ cup of Goji berries

Instructions:
1. Pour all ingredients into a bowl; mix well with hands.
2. Put into containers for snacking at work.
