UW Health Promotion Research Center

UW Health Promotion Research Center The UW Health Promotion Research Center (UW HPRC) conducts community-based research that promotes the health and well-being of middle-aged and older adults.

The UW Health Promotion Research Center conducts community-based research that promotes the health and well-being of middle-aged and older adults, particularly those with lower incomes and/or in underserved populations who are more likely to experience health disparities. Our research includes a broad range of health promotion topics, including healthy aging, cancer prevention and control, workplace health, physical activity, depression management, and brain health. For this research, we collaborate with local, regional, and national partners who are committed to health promotion and improving people’s quality of life. We also partner with organizations that reach large numbers of individuals, including nonprofits, employers, business groups, community networks, and government agencies. Posting policy:

We may remove any post or ban anyone who violates our guidelines. We will not tolerate personal attacks, inappropriate language, violent or libelous speech, spamming, and excessive posting. We honor Ernestine Robinson and Charlesetta McDowell this month as they retire after 28 years of team-teaching EnhanceFitness!

Ernestine and Charlesetta were two of the first EnhanceFitness class instructors. Their joyful Central Area Senior Center classes have always been very full with 30-40 participants and plenty of laughter. They have been visited by public health and aging leaders from around the world. Not only are Ernestine and Charlesetta excellent instructors, they are healthy lifestyle role models for all.

Thank you Ernestine, Charlesetta and Central Area Senior Center for your profound impact! Read more here: https://projectenhance.org/project-enhance-news-august-2023/
