Downtown Seattle YMCA The Y: We’re for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility At the Y, strengthening community is our cause.

We work side-by-side with our neighbors throughout King and south Snohomish counties to help kids and families thrive – and to apply their positive behaviors at home, school, the workplace and beyond.

More than 200 children in the SeaTac community left the Matt Griffin Y a little warmer, a little more confident, and a whole lot more supported.

Seattle Seahawks safety Julian Love spent the afternoon meeting families, hearing kids’ stories, and helping them receive their new winter coats, shoes, and haircuts. His kindness and presence meant the world to the young people we serve.

A heartfelt thank you to Julian Love and to our partners at UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Washington for making this day possible and for investing in the health and well-being of local families. And it was also a success because of the generosity of The Covenant Clippers generously donating their time and skills, and Sea Hawkers joining our staff in distributing winter items.

Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier community—one child at a time.

This past week, the Puget Sound Business Journal hosted its Power 100 reception, recognizing leaders whose work shapes the region’s economy, communities, and future.

We are proud that our President and CEO, Loria Yeadon, was named to this year’s Power 100 list, joining some of the Puget Sound’s most notable leaders, including Vulcan’s Jody Allen, the Ballmer Group’s Steve Ballmer, and the Kraken’s Tod Leiweke.

This recognition follows Loria’s inclusion on the Business Journal’s list of the region’s 15 Most Admired CEOs earlier this year. Loria’s recognition is a testament to the Y’s impactful work in the Puget Sound region.

We congratulate all of this year’s honorees and appreciate the Business Journal for shining a light on leaders making a difference across our region.

Last Friday, the Windermere Foundation turned laughter into lasting change at its third annual Comedy Night at Fremont Studios with the legendary Kevin Nealon. 🎤

We are deeply grateful to be the beneficiary of this special evening, with all proceeds supporting the Y Social Impact Center’s housing, foster care, young adult programs, and counseling services for youth, young adults, and families across King County.🩵 💜 💛

For more than 30 years, Windermere has stood with the Y to ensure young people have safety, stability, and a sense of belonging that come with finding the way home. Thank you to the Windermere Foundation team, agents, clients, and guests for choosing to invest in our community and in the futures of young people.

November is Native American Heritage Month—a time to honor and celebrate the enduring histories, cultures, and contributions of Native and Indigenous peoples.

The YMCA of Greater Seattle recognizes that our camp properties across Washington state—including on Orcas Island, Federal Way, Key Peninsula, and Mineral Lake—are places long cherished and cared for by Indigenous peoples. We hold deep respect for those connections and remain committed to stewarding these lands with gratitude and care, so that current and future generations may continue to learn, grow, and find belonging there.

We celebrate the vital role Indigenous communities play in shaping our shared future and reaffirm our commitment to partnership, learning, and respect year-round.
