The Medicine Chest - Willowtree Market

The Medicine Chest - Willowtree Market Seasonally curated packages of Herbal Remedies delivered to your door. The result? But we can re-learn the remedies that belong in our homes!

The Medicine Chest works like a CSA at a farm, except, instead of vegetables, members receive bundles of medicine. You know how to avoid the common cold, thicken your hair, calm your adrenal glands and feel in balance with the Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. The kitchen-table herbalism we might have inherited from our grandparents has fallen out of sight. The plants are still there, waiting to be invited inside.

The medicine bundle is distributed at the beginning of each season, and members can choose to pick it up at one of our three pick up locations, or have it mailed to their home. We have 4 levels of membership: the Grandma Chest, the Mamma Chest, the Essentials Pack and the Publications Package. Click here to view Our Packages page. Each package represents a different level of membership. If you are strapped for time, we recommend the Grandma or Mamma Medicine Chest, as it will provide you with both the remedies and the know-how. The essentials pack is a good option for those on a budget, or for those who are unsure if they are all that into this whole plant medicine thing. If you have some extra time, but are low on cash, we suggest the Seasonal Publications. We do our best in the publications to help you understand the best herbs for each season and where to find them on your own. Please let us know if you are unable to afford any of these options, and we will connect you to more resources for making at-home herbalism your own.

You guyyssss, Only 2.5 weeks until Spring Package Sign Ups End! It snuck up on everyone. You'll get your package April 14th. In the meantime, check out this interview with Kate Briggs from the Winter Zine.

Our friend Kate Briggs is an exceedingly humble herbalist with an incredible amount of knowledge. We interviewed her about how to avoid, deal with and get over the bugs that can accompany the change of seasons. She's a gem, Kate. And she really knows her s**t.

It is my great honor and pleasure to know Lauren and Mykol of The Cunning Crow Apothecary--they are two extraordinary witches doing extraordinary work. Look for Lauren's brilliant take on moontime in our upcoming zine.
The Best news like ever man is that they are expanding their appointment office (which is full of light and beautiful) to include a community retail herbal boutique. Doors open next Wednesday March 9th and the Grand Opening is Friday March 25th... Doan miss it. Doan do it. See you there.

Here at the Medicine Chest, we invite you to embrace your weird s**t. Maybe the following article is your version of weird s**t, or maybe it really weirds you out. Either way, may it inspire you to drop the shame and be who you are in a healthy, empowered way.

Ummm posted this on my page but not on here. For those who missed it: Here's a highlight from last Spring's Zine. Nettles for everyone, amen:

There's a beloved but forgotten Hall and Oates song called, "Stung in the Spring." You can youtube it. They probably wrote it right about now, late February, when the Nettles are plentiful and beautiful. These generous stands of Springtime medicine are the a Northwest wildcrafting delight.
