As an art therapist and clinical mental health counselor, I work primarily with adult women who have a desire to explore and transform emotions and symptoms into authentic expressions through art making. Sessions often include talking, mindfulness, somatic grounding, art making, and other forms of holistic and evidence-based therapies. As a humanistic and person-centered therapist, my approach is rooted in a holistic view of what it means to be fully human. Through the process of creative exploration, clients discover strengths and resources within themselves that help them solve problems and recover a deeper sense of self. No previous art experience is needed to benefit from art therapy. Therapeutic art making does not need to be “pretty.” Both you, and your art, are treated with care and respect in an environment grounded in acceptance, non-judgment, confidentiality, honesty, and compassion. Everything that arises is honored. Whether you are feeling challenged by stress, anxiety, body image, self-esteem, co-dependency, life transitions, spirituality, or, trauma ... our work together is an invitation to hope, insight, release, and self-compassion.
