The Christmas spirit continues at Pelican Landing! 🎨🎄

Our residents had a wonderful time creating putty Christmas tree paintings. They each designed and decorated their own unique trees to show off their creativity. What do you think of the pieces?

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon Eggnog Social with James. Between the delicious drinks and the warm company, it was the perfect way to relax despite the cold!

We had a full day of festive fun last week at Pelican Landing! 🤶🎄

It started with a cozy hot cocoa social, followed by a visit from Mrs. Claus herself who spread joy throughout the community. Later, Angie Parks dressed up for a beautiful holiday piano performance, and we kept the spirit going by caroling through the night. It was a perfect day of holiday cheer!

Bringing generations together is a mission very near and dear to our hearts. We feel so lucky to have reconnected with Ms. Tobey Carpenter to share our mutual passion for supporting special needs students and our seniors.

It was a joy to welcome the students from Wabasso School to Pelican Landing. We shared hot cocoa and cookies, sang Christmas carols, and made festive crafts, but the very best gift of all was simply spending time together!

A huge thank you to Wabasso School and to the incredible team including Ms. Tobey Carpenter, Mr. Hanley, Ms. Maryann, Ms. April, Ms. Jo, and Ms. Lisa. We appreciate the amazing work you do every day!! 💗

Today we celebrate our Executive Director James Brassard and Community Relations Director Lynn Lowe, who spend their days listening to families, answering the tough questions, and helping future residents see what life here can truly feel like.

From the first phone call to move-in day, they turn uncertainty into clarity and “maybe” into a confident next step. Thank you, James and Lynn, for the care you bring to every conversation and every family you serve! 💚📞

Shelly led our Artful Expressions group in a discussion about abstract meaning and its importance in the art world! With holiday music playing in the background to set the mood, the group applied those concepts to create their own abstract trees. Everyone enjoyed mixing a little art theory with Christmas spirit. 🎄🎨

Shipwrecks and gold bars have been on the itinerary lately! ⚓🪙

Our residents visited Mel Fisher's Treasures to get a closer look at the history beneath the waves. Between reading the stories of famous wrecks and seeing the salvaged treasures up close, it was a fascinating dive into the past. A little bit of local history always makes for a great afternoon.

Our amazing Business Office Manager, Denise Farrell, swapped her desk for a bowling lane! 🎳

She joined our Assisted Living residents for an outing that turned into quite the competition. Mary Jane and Jimi were the ones to watch, finding the pocket and celebrating some impressive strikes. It was a great afternoon, and we're so glad she was able to trade the office for the alley!

Meditation is a practice of training attention and awareness to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state. It is about focusing on a single point, like the breath, to find inner peace and reduce stress.

Mark Blacknell teaches this practice at Pelican Landing, and seeing Beverly apply it is a beautiful thing. She took what she learned, found a quiet space, and sat comfortably to focus entirely on her breathing. The benefits range from improved focus to enhanced sleep, but this photo tells the story best. It is a candid reminder that what we do daily definitely makes a difference! 🧘‍♀️

Pelican Landing spent a beautiful afternoon at Riverview Park in Sebastian! It was a chance for everyone to relax and enjoy the scenery together. Mark and Jimi helped lead the charge on this little tour, but they had plenty of company enjoying the fresh air alongside them. Stay tuned for where this group will head next! 🌊

Turkey bowling and pumpkin weight guessing set the pace for this year's Harvest Festival! 🦃🎳

The afternoon was packed with classic games, including a bean bag toss and "pin the hat on the turkey." Plus, Chef Manny kept the crowd fueled with turkey sliders and pumpkin mousse while we sipped on cider. With Allen Wronko providing the entertainment, to no one's surprise, the day naturally ended with a little bit of dancing!
