The cards are my vehicle, a vehicle that allows me to glimpse the truth beneath the situation you present and the ability to reflect it accurately back to you. I ask that the cards mirror the wishes of your soul, nothing less. When I say soul, I mean the deepest wisdom available to you now. Even if you think that if you get your wishes realized you would be happy, my strong suit is I know there is nothing outside of you that will make you happy. I await your story with all its twists and turns. Significant and real to you, my talent is that I know that it is essentially a drama that you have created, even if unconsciously, and it is one with which have not only identified with, but burdened yourself. In truth, we have burdened ourselves in our life with attachments and their byproduct, pain. Thee attachments come in the form of relationships and ideas of who we think we are and the roles we play. Many people want me to predict their future, to tell them that things will change and thus improve. I tell them that I don’t predict the future. What I can do is tell you via the cards what is happening now and what part you play in it. The cards awake you to this moment, and when one is awake, that power you seek becomes available for acceptance or change. What has happened is you now possess a perspective of wisdom, and that is no small matter. Nobody usually comes to see me with acceptance in mind; they are looking for change, thinking that if their circumstances would change, their lives would improve. However, when one can accept one’s situation or limitations, it is an equally powerful place; that is hard for people to believe. It is my desire to help you remember who you really are, to uncover the self that awaits you and to illuminate a wisdom that gives clarity and direction. When you can acknowledge that the cards are clearly reflecting the whole of your situation, then with that awareness you will be able to create a different reality, one that is lighter and yet deeper, and which reflects the wishes of your soul. My only role is to create a space for that to happen.

Where Are You Spiritually According to the major Arcana?
I have been studying and practicing the Tarot particularly here at Kashi Ashram where I have been a monk and devotee for over 40 years.
The 22 cards of the Tarot, Major Arcana, distinguished from the 56 Minor Arcana, deal mainly with the spiritual challenges along the path. Beginning with the Fool card, one sees how they reflect worldly wisdom, power and intellect via the first 10 cards. Upon encountering the Hermit, No. 9, however, one awakens to their spiritual journey. The remainder of the cards, containing challenges, insights and blessings, awaken you further as you proceed toward the final card representing freedom and union with the Self.
While most people claim to be on the spiritual path, they are not always willing to take the steps necessary to free themselves to bask in the final liberation reflected by the end card, The World. One always struggles with duality in proceeding along the path and it is reflected in these 22 cards.
However, when you awaken and tire of dallying and habituation, you are compelled to take the next step. Consulting the Major Arcana at that time hopefully unties some of the knots that keep you from progressing. Essentially they bring you insight and awareness to ease an obstruction.
If you are a student of the Tarot and particularly of your path, ask the cards in the Major Arcana to reveal the truth of where you stand in relationship to your journey. Be aware that it takes courage to ask questions such as “Where am I now on the path? What must I free myself of to proceed along the path?”

SEEKING THE SILENCE
It appears that my practice these days is to be on high alert for reactivity so that I may nip it in the bud hopefully and enjoy some peace of mind. Today, however, brought a realization that I get very annoyed if I am in my quiet space in my room and somebody just walks by or turns on their TV a little louder, our walls so paper thin. I get angry at being rousted from my moments of peace and respite.
However, today I began to see the underside of this continued annoyance and realized that I was seeking the silence, the place of quiet and peace in my mind. And in some ways I have always been seeking it.
Living with Ma and meditating with her at one point almost every night, she brought the silence to us. And we began to realize that those whom we chose to keep company had to have as their companions the silence. We began to distinguish between those who had noisy minds and those who knew how to be quiet inside, no matter whether they were talking about Dolce/Gabbana or meditation. In a moment we could share that inside quiet space.
I also realized that when people call me psychic or intuitive, it’s more that they allow me into their silence where answers reside. Sometimes if we are lucky we both enter the sanctuary of silence and receive the knowing and divine intelligence that is always there.
It’s good to know that I am seeking the silence these days. I think my Self has been dying to talk to me.

The Magician card is full of wonder and excitement when you receive it. It means "as above-so below." If you'll notice in the card, on his/her table are all the items needs to manifest what you need. This is a time to utilize fully your desires of creation. not everybody has this power to "manifest." You do. So take this time to go within and ask yourself what it is that you wish to create. When you create, you can never be a victim.

Advanced Seminar with Uma

Enjoy a seminar teaching with Uma, practitioner of the art of tarot for the past 42 years. Uma was named Resident Intuitive by her guru Ma Jaya and has drawn not only from her teacher’s support, but all other teachings of wisdom. While Uma has an eclectic approach in teaching, she is not limited to conventional understandings of the card. The secret’s in the silence
A client called me enmeshed in a maze of confusion about a choice to make. My usual thing is to first dispel fear surrounding the possible choices he could make. We talked frankly about the best and worst of each scenario. Confusion reigned.
I think that confusion comes from the word itself. First there’s the syllable “con” which means against; and then the word “fusion” which means joining together. So “against union” (within yourself) is how I approach confusion. That’s my simplistic pseudo-Webster meaning, You are not in alignment with one of those choices. There is the chance that one of these choices would not reflect who you truly are.
As my client and I began to talk some of his anxiety began to dissipate and he became more and more quiet. In the depth, and I emphasize depth, cause you gotta go deep to hear an answer. In that depth and in that silence, there is a possibility for clarity to arise. If you still don’t hear the answer, you can at least dissipate some of the anxiety from “thinking” about your choice. Sometimes having reached a piece of silence, the answer might arise at some future time, unexpectedly.
