🌿 Meet the Therapist | Cypress Roots Counseling 🌿
I’m Alicia Glasser, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Professor of Psychology, and the founder of Cypress Roots Counseling. What originally drew me to this work was a desire to be a window for light in the world—to help bear the weight of its darkness and, even in small ways, make that weight feel lighter for others.
As both a therapist and an educator, my work is grounded in understanding how the mind, body, and nervous system respond to stress, trauma, and change. In therapy, I take an integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based practices and somatic strategies to support regulation, resilience, and meaningful growth. Sessions are collaborative and paced with care, honoring each person’s capacity and lived experience.
Clients often share that they appreciate the calm, supportive space I offer, along with practical tools they can bring into their daily lives to foster stability and nervous system regulation in the present moment. Therapy here isn’t about rushing toward solutions—it’s about slowing down enough to listen, understand, and reconnect.
I feel especially connected to youth and adults navigating intense emotional distress, grief, and major life transitions—those seeking a place to process what they’ve been carrying, regulate their bodies, and find their way back to themselves. What guides my work is curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for the healing process.
At Cypress Roots Counseling, therapy with me is an invitation to pause, breathe, and move forward with intention—supported, grounded, and not alone.
🌱 Slow down. Breathe deeply. Proceed intentionally.
