🎉 HRH celebrates grand opening in West New York! 🪅

Hudson Regional Health proudly marks a significant milestone in its continued growth in Hudson County with the grand opening of its newest HRH Medical Group primary care and family medicine practice in West New York - its fourth location across Northern New Jersey!

Local leaders including County Executive Craig Guy for Hudson County Executive, Mayor Albio Sires for NJ, and Assemblyman Larry Wainstein joined the HRH team to cut the ribbon on the new location - celebrating a major step forward in bringing high-quality care directly to the North Hudson community.

Led by board certified physicians Dr. Luis Correa and Dr. Reinerio Rodriguez, our bilingual team provides compassionate, patient-centered care in a brand new, remodeled state-of-the-art facility with the latest technology.

HRH was honored to host Assemblyman Will Sampson and MoHair Foundation Board Member Diane Sondy to tour the major infrastructure upgrades taking place at Bayonne University!

Chief Hospital Execitive Dr. Vijayant Singh and Operations Director Nazar Burak provided an early preview to the Assemblyman and Ms. Sondy on the multi-million dollar overhaul of the lobby that will open to the community next week, renovated patient rooms and nursing stations, and planned upgrades to the operating rooms, sleep lab, and more.

HRH thanks Assemblyman Sampson and Ms. Sondy for their strong support of HRH’s game-changing improvements at Bayonne University Hospital!

A major milestone in patient safety: HRH is proud to announce that Bayonne University Hospital has achieved zero hospital-acquired infections for two consecutive years (2024 & 2025)!

Bayonne is one of the only acute care hospitals in NJ to achieve this rare accomplishment, thanks to exceptional infection prevention practices, a highly skilled clinical team, and a commitment to patient safety.

Zero hospital acquired infections at a facility represent one of the gold standards in hospital care, given it often increases patient morbidity and mortality, extends the length of hospital stays, and raises the cost of care.

“Achieving two consecutive years of zero healthcare-associated infections reflects the dedication and vigilance of our entire care team,” said Cynthia Mercado-Reyes, Director of Infection Control. “Our focus on evidence-based protocols, staff training, and ongoing monitoring has been critical to ensuring patient safety and delivering the highest standard of care.”

The biggest improvement? Many patient rooms have been transformed from cramped, shared spaces into private, spacious rooms - giving patients the dignity they deserve.

Additionally, the newly renovated open-concept nursing stations create a more welcoming experience for patients and families, all without the traditional, stuffy hospital feel.

Our distinguished speakers - Meron Debesai, MD; Marco Bertucci Zoccali, MD; Simon Badin, MD; Kovil Ramasamy; and Volodymyr Mykhayliv, Registered Dietitian - provided valuable guidance on screening recommendations, risk factors, and the importance of nutrition in maintaining colorectal health.
