Behavioral Health students and members of Active Minds at State Fair Community College proudly joined the Missouri Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for Legislative Education and Advocacy Day at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City.

Students demonstrated their support for several key bills impacting behavioral health and community well-being across Missouri. This experience provided a meaningful opportunity to engage in the legislative process and advocate for policies that directly affect the individuals and families we serve.

A special thank you to Melissa A. Douglas, Missouri State House of Representatives, for speaking with students about the importance of civic engagement and ensuring their voices are heard within their communities. Her message reinforced the power of advocacy in creating meaningful change for real people facing real issues.
