Patricia Lou "Pat" Nicholson, 87, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born February 26, 1938, in Sedalia, the daughter of Russell Wicker and Mary Anna (Dorsey) Wicker, who preceded her in death.

On December 4, 1981, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Pat was united in marriage to Harrell Lee Nicholson, who preceded her in death on January 4, 2015.

Pat was a graduate of Houstonia High School, Class of 1956, and later furthered her education at Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a teenager, she worked in her parents' grocery store, Wicker Mercantile, in Houstonia. Over the years, Pat served others in a variety of roles, including as a switchboard operator for Sears in Kansas City, and as a receptionist for Drs. Proctor, Hopkins, and Eldenburg. For the last 20 years of her working life, she enjoyed working alongside her daughter at Charlotte's Country Ruffle.

Throughout her life, Pat's heart was evident in the way she loved, animals, children, and most of all, her Lord and Savior. She had a gift for listening, and many found comfort in her steady presence and thoughtful guidance. Pat was also known for her quick wit and her sweet tooth. Always polished and put together, she took pride in her appearance, making sure her hair was just right, lipstick, red glasses, outfit, jewelry, and accessories perfectly matched.

Jace Jamison Zembsch

Jace Jamison Zembsch, age 12, of Whiteman Air Force Base in K**b Noster, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 23, 2013, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Derek and Brooklynn Zembsch, who survive in the home.

Because of his father's Air Force career, Jace had the unique experience of calling several places home. He lived in Columbus, Mississippi (Columbus AFB) until 2015; Scott AFB, Illinois until 2018; Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma until 2022; and Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas until 2024. Since then, he made his home at Whiteman AFB in Missouri. Jace dreamed of one day serving in the Air Force himself, following in his dad's footsteps.

Jace was a sixth-grade student who loved building with Legos, playing video games, especially PC games, and watching his favorite movies and TV shows. His Legos and games brought him endless enjoyment and were a big part of what made him "Jace."

Most of all, Jace was a Christian who held tightly to his faith throughout his courageous battle with cancer. He found comfort in knowing Jesus would be there to welcome him home.

In addition to his parents, Jace is survived by four siblings: Jackson, Oliver, Harper, and Morgan; maternal grandparents, Dusten and Barbara Hall of Bolivar, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Terry Zembsch of Illinois, Shandra Muse of Springfield, Missouri, Cristy Zembsch of Republic, Missouri, and Mendel Needham of Bolivar, Missouri; maternal great-grandfather, Darwyn Hall of Stockton, Missouri; paternal great-grandparents, George and Teresa Muse of Springfield, Missouri; paternal great-grandmother, Zoe Spitz of The Villages, Florida; and several uncles, aunts, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his baby brother, Henry Zembsch; maternal great-grandparents, Gary and Patsy Fisher; and paternal great-grandfather, Bill Zembsch.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Captain Antoine officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers and plants, Jace asked that anyone wishing to give a gift consider donating Lego sets or board games, which will be delivered to Children's Mercy Hospital for other children to enjoy.

Service arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, Missouri.

Robert Douglas Halteman

Robert Douglas "Doug" Halteman, 64, of Carterville, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on May 21, 1961, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Robert E. Halteman and Bessie L. (Williams) Halteman, who preceded him in death.

Doug was a graduate of Webb City High School, Class of 1979. Throughout his life, he held several different jobs and was truly a "jack of all trades." If something wouldn't work, Doug had a way of bringing it back to life, especially when it came to small engines. There wasn't much he couldn't fix, and he took pride in figuring things out with his hands.

One of Doug's greatest joys was racing. Some of his most cherished memories were spent alongside his dad, working on race cars and heading to the track. Doug also loved family get-togethers, especially when there was good food and plenty of laughter. He kept up with his nieces and nephews and genuinely cared about what was going on in their lives. His great-nieces and great-nephews brought him a lot of happiness, and he would have done anything for them.

Doug is survived by five siblings: Kathy Rowland of Joplin, Missy Williams (Gary) of Carterville, Becky Allen (Bob) of Webb City, Kerry Helton (Ed) of Webb City, and Kayla Broady (Mark) of Carthage, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Small-town breakfasts, a fresh cut, and a whole lot of chili for a great cause. 🌶️🙌

02/22/2026

Today was one of those good Saturdays that reminds you why community matters.

We started the morning in Green Ridge, MO at the American Legion biscuits & gravy breakfast fundraiser, comfort food, friendly faces, and a great mission.

Later on, I squeezed in a much-needed haircut at Rialti’s Barber Shop, then treated myself to a little reset time in the massage chair at OmniTan (highly recommend when you’ve got a few minutes to breathe 😌).

Then it was off to downtown Sedalia at The Local Tap for the Chili Cook-Off, where all proceeds are being donated to the Sedalia Community Cafe. Great chili, great crowd, and an even better cause local tap Sedalia Community Cafe Rea Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services

Ronald Dean Fockler

Ronald "Dean" Fockler, 81, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on November 1, 1944, in Sedalia, the son of Lloyd and Virgie (Beard) Fockler, who preceded him in death.

On November 3, 1979, in Sedalia, Dean was united in marriage to Brenda Gail Rogers, who survives of the home.

Dean was raised in K**b Noster, Missouri, and later made his home in Sedalia, where he built a life, a family, and countless friendships. He was a graduate of K**b Noster High School.

Wayne Clifton Johnson

Wayne Clifton Johnson, 80, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at Aspire Senior Living in Warsaw, Missouri. He was born March 25, 1945, in Sedalia, the son of Joseph L. Johnson and Leota M. (Jones) Johnson, who preceded him in death.

He was previously married to Linda Evans, who resides in Sedalia.

Wayne attended Smith-Cotton High School and spent his working years as a skilled carpenter and carpet layer in the Kansas City area. He had a true knack for hands-on work and took pride in doing things the right way, often with his own two hands. Wayne loved anything with an engine and a story, especially old cars. He enjoyed collecting them, turning wrenches, and spending time at auto auctions and car shows.

Wayne also had an eye for potential. He enjoyed flipping houses, buying a place, remodeling it himself, and either selling it or fixing it up to rent out. When he wasn't busy with a project, you could often find him cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. He especially enjoyed watching football with his nephew, Bruce Norton. One of his favorite simple pleasures was sitting on his front porch on East Broadway, sipping a beer and watching the traffic roll by.

Ricky Dean Lewis

Ricky Dean Lewis, 68, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his home. He was born April 30, 1957, in Bethany, Missouri, the son of Buddy Dean Lewis and Betty Louise (Sipes) Lewis, who preceded him in death.

Ricky was a proud graduate of Gallatin High School in Gallatin, Missouri, Class of 1975. He continued his education at Trenton Junior College, earning an associate degree in architecture. Known for his creativity and eye for design, he enjoyed drawing up ideas for building projects and helping others bring their visions to life. In earlier years, he also enjoyed flipping homes, buying, remodeling, and restoring them with pride and purpose.

Above all, Ricky had a big heart. He was the kind of person who would step in when someone was in need, offering help without hesitation. He loved to travel, spend time at the lake, and be around people. A natural jokester with an easy smile, he was famously the "silly uncle," always ready with a laugh. He was supportive and steady for his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who valued his encouragement and advice. Ricky also held a special place in the life of his younger sister, Vicki, fourteen years his junior, often serving as a protective, fatherly presence.
