Trayan Banaru

In Loving Memory of

Trayan Banaru

August 19, 1943 - January 9, 2026

Trayan Banaru was born on August 19, 1943, in Balts, Moldova, to Feodosii Banaru and Ana Calin Mihai. Trayan was a devoted man of God who loved the Lord with all his heart. He faithfully served the Lord and his family all the days of his life.

Trayan was very talented and possessed many professional skills. He worked as a metal processing technologist, a lathe operator, a milling machine operator, a metal fabricator, a welder, and the head of the welding shop at a factory, and then as an inspector at the Energy Supervision agency. When the prayer house was being built in Balts, Moldova, Trayan was responsible for supplying the building materials and helped design the building. Trayan was meticulous and thorough in everything he did. He deeply loved the Word of God and used his technical skills to spread the Gospel for many years.

Trayan glorified the Lord through music, finding great joy in playing instruments, singing, and directing multiple church choirs. He completed the very first Choir Conducting courses that were offered in the Soviet Union.

Trayan met Valentina Kazimir at church and they were married on September 18, 1971, and shared 54 years of love and partnership. Together they raised five children: Gennadiy, Elaina, Galina, Alina, and Lyudmila. Trayan was also a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren, whom he adored.

On July 12, 1994, he immigrated with his family to Sacramento, California, to build a better life, and later moved to Sedalia, Missouri, in 2021.

Trayan was known for his gentle and humble spirit, wisdom, sense of humor, and brilliant mind. He loved working with his hands, reading, solving puzzles, studying, and exploring history and biblical times. If there was something he didn't know, he was sure to locate it in the Bible, historical literature, or the encyclopedia.

On January 9, 2026, Trayan joined the heavenly choir, now praising the Lord alongside the angels.

This is not a goodbye, but a "see you later."

"In Him we live and move and exist."

Thomas Richard Burlingame

Thomas Richard Burlingame, age 73, of Sedalia, Missouri, was born on August 24, 1952, and passed away on January 11, 2026.

Richard, most affectionately known as "Burley" by all who knew and loved him, will be remembered most for his kind and generous spirit, along with his absolute love and passion for sports. Burley was never afraid to lend a hand to a friend or neighbor, if you needed a tool, he probably had it, or he knew someone who did. He had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh so deep and boisterous it was contagious.

His zest for competition was evident in the way he watched and celebrated all sports. While his favorites included the Alabama Crimson Tide, MU, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs, his loyalty was never limited to a single sport or franchise. It was common for him to place small wagers among friends just to keep things entertaining. However, his love extended far beyond the playing field, as he truly cherished gathering with friends to watch and celebrate just about anything together.

Richard is survived by his wife, Susan, the love of his life, with whom he was blessed to share over 50 years. He is also survived by three children, Thomas Richard Burlingame, Jr., Douglas Christopher Burlingame, and Kristi Karol Wallace, all of Sedalia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four of his five siblings; and many nieces and nephews. He is further survived by an abundance of friends whom he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Thomas Burlingame and Edna Louis (Romig) Burlingame, and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel, followed by a private graveside service at Highland Sacred Gardens. There will be no formal funeral service.

Pallbearers will include Steven Davis, Patrick Moon, Terry Randolph, Jason Moore, David Loveland, and John Moon. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Andrews and Greg Allain.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Judith Marlene Rogers

Judith Rogers of Tipton, Missouri, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Judith Marlene Smith was born January 23, 1942, in Arthurette, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of George Smith and Alice Pearl McInnis Smith.

On August 31, 1974, in Fernandina Beach, Florida, Judith was married to the love of her life, William N. "Will" Rogers. Together they set out on an amazing adventure that took them to a multitude of destinations most people can only dream of. Including ten years of tropical islands and beaches living on a sailboat and later traveling throughout the United States and Canada in one of the many RV's they owned.

Firm in her faith and love of the Lord, Judith taught Sunday School for many years at the Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Evidence of her teachings were apparent by her many beautifully hand written lesson plans.

Thank you Judith for these Wonderful Memories.

Judith leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl Prather Hicks of Lexington, North Carolina; step-daughters, Cynthia Holem (Robert) of Dunnellon, Florida, and Kimmer Rogers of Maui, Hawaii; sisters, Laureen Brayall, Marsha Golder; brother, Leslie Smith (Myrna), all of New Brunswick, Canada; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Judith was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Barbara Rogers Green; a son-in-law, Fletcher Hicks; and brother-in-laws, William Brayall and Winston Golder.

Her remains will be interred alongside her husband, Will, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri with a Celebration of Life to follow.
