We are a small Sedona, Arizona, based distillery, specializing in the wildcrafting and distillation of native SW aromatic plants.

We also offer a variety of artisan distilled essential oils from our friends in the Caribbean and Iceland. We are a small Sedona based distillery, specializing in native aromatic plants. We bought our first distiller in 2005 and since then have distilled 85 different species of plants.

We've just finished several distillations of organic Valencia Orange peel from Local Juicery, and the aroma is fantastic! It took 5 of us the better part of an afternoon to clean the pulp out of the peels, but the work was completely worth it. It has a creamy aroma that reminds me a little of a 50/50 bar (does anyone remember those?). Please check out our new citrus page at www.phibeearomatics.com/essential-oils-citrus.html. We'll add the Valencia Orange in about 6 weeks, when the oil has matured.

We're thrilled to be distilling Desert Lavender again! It has been in slow recovery from the winter drought three years ago, and we have waited patiently until it was doing better. The plants are the most lush we have ever seen them, and it has been so uplifting to work with. It will be back in stock on the website in 6 weeks :)

For those you of you who don't receive our newsletter, we have just introduced a powerful new Eucalyptus oil. River Red Gum Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) grows in the lower elevation of Arizona at Castle Hot Springs. These are amazing old growth trees which are fed by the springs, and produce a complex essential oil with active antimicrobial properties and a wonderful aroma. www.phibeearomatics.com

Recently my herbalist friend, Susan Williams from www.pivot-health.com, reminded me of the important benefits herbal vinegars at this time. Arabella has chosen herbology as her self directed study for her homeschool program, so we have been working with plants in our yard (which thankfully are coming up now). We chose Rosemary, Melissa and Thyme for this antiviral vinegar. It is so easy to make, and people have not hoarded apple cider vinegar or fresh herbs, so it is a remedy that is both fun and available. You just chop up your herbs and use 2 parts vinegar to one part herbs. Let it sit for a minimum of 3 days, and it is ready for use. Covid-19 first seats itself in the throat, so this is a front line of defense, when used as a gargle. For a gargle, use 1 ounce of vinegar, to 3 ounces of warm water.

I'm sorry to say that the Haiti trip had to be cancelled due to an escalation of political and civil unrest. But we have all decided to converge in the Dominican Republic at the end of March instead. The extra time has given me the chance to get even more creative with a lesson plan for product making, and I am filled with enthusiasm! Pictured here is everyone who will be meeting up, with the exception of Catherine Gibbons, the executive director of Prosperity Catalyst, who I will meet face to face for the first time. By the way, PhiBee Aromatics will be closed from March 21st through March 28th. :)

We have recently partnered with Local Juicery in Sedona to distill organic Arizona citrus peels, from Patagonia Farm. The oils are divine! They include Meyer Lemon, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Lime and Sweet Orange. We will for sure get them on the website when they reach maturity :)

PhiBee Aromatics will be closed from February 26th through March 6th because I (Clare) will be returning to Haiti to continue working on the distillation project for Prosperity Catalyst. Fanm Limye (Women Illuminated, in Haitian Kreyol) is an organization of bee keepers, small farmers and artisans, who have a successful candle making business. They have been busy distilling Lemongrass, Pomello and Basil, with an Explorer distillation system (from Alchemia Solutions) that I took down there in 2018. I am very excited to work with them on developing some therapeutic products. Our goal is to have something on the shelves in Haiti before I leave! We're having a benefit sale of a beautiful Douglas Fir EO, joyously collected by the Desert Star Community School 8th grade class. The kids have been participating in fundraising activities for two years so that everyone can join in their final class field trip. They did careful and conscientious work in the forest, and we were super proud of them. This fir oil is newly distilled, has a tangerine top note and will be aromatically ready just in time for Christmas! We had a fantastic time with Darcy Blue, of Shamaflora Apothecary, and her 3 wonderful herbal apprentices! :) We spent the day near Sacred Mountain, collecting Chaparral and Pinyon Pine for an intensely aromatic co distill. Every year in the Fall, we collect White Pine Cones (Pinus strobiformis), and I can't resist posting pictures of the beautiful, crystalline resin that these cones produce. The trees live at around a 9,000 foot elevation, and the oil has an uplifting and clarifying effect on the mind :)

We had a wonderful surprise visit from Noriko Miyata from Kyoto, Japan, yesterday! I met her 8 years ago while on a trip to Southern Germany with the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy, to study the latest technologies in EO distillation. Yesterday was also the first time in over two years that we were able to distill some beautiful, golden Snakeweed oil (last years plants were to drought stressed). What a nice day!
