Spring Break for Sedro-Woolley School District is next week, Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10. Many of our staff members have already taken an early spring break because of the COVID-19 school closure. Others will have next week off as scheduled.

Because of this, you will be receiving emails from individual teachers about their plans for continuous learning opportunities with varying start dates for delivery of resources.

Our IT staff will be checking out Chromebook devices for student use at home next week. This plan along with scheduled pickup times will be communicated via email by school building principals and/or teachers.

We will also continue our grab-and-go meal services during the week of Spring Break.

The Boys & Girls Club of Skagit County will operate their essential childcare facility during Spring Break as well.

This school year continues to present unprecedented challenges. Our amazing staff members continue to build a home-based continuous learning program almost from scratch. Every effort is being made to provide a rich learning opportunity to our students, while also recognizing that at-home continuous learning does not replace the experience of a student engaging with the teacher and their peers in the classroom.

We will do our best to create a thoughtful and meaningful experience for our students because they deserve nothing less.

We appreciate your continued patience as we adapt our instructional delivery model virtually overnight.

"A backpack on a bench can save lives"

Automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, are now required at schools and athletic events in 14 states. But WA State isn't one of them and Nick of Time Foundation wants to change that!

Ask your kid's coaches:
• If they have AEDs at practice and games?
• Have all students, staff, and coaches been trained to recognize a cardiac emergency, in "Hands-only" CPR and know how to use an AED?
• Do ALL of your kid's schools and youth organizations have a well-practiced emergency action plan for both students and staff?

If they answer NO to any of these 3 questions, ask them WHY NOT!
