Grief is not something to fix, it’s something to honor.
The depth of our grief reflects the depth of our love, and mourning is a natural response to meaningful connection.
In this thoughtful article by Dr. Alan Wolfelt, he explores why our capacity to grieve exists because we first had the capacity to love.

Ronald Klug

Ronald Ray Klug, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2026, at Silver Tree Rehabilitation, at the age of 72.

Ronald was born on March 5, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, to Harold and Shirley Klug. He was a graduate of Judson High School, Class of 1971. Following graduation, Ronald began his working career at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where he was employed until 1977. He later went on to serve the City of Kirby as a dispatcher, dedicating 32 years of loyal service to the community.

Upon his retirement, the City of Kirby honored Ronald’s commitment and legacy by naming the Emergency Communications Center the Ronald R. Klug Communication Center—a tribute that reflected the respect and appreciation he earned throughout his career.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ronald later chose to move into assisted living, where he was able to enjoy a carefree life, living independently and on his own terms.

Ronald was known for his dedication, generosity, and quiet sense of humor. He deeply valued his family and cherished time spent with those he loved. When he wasn’t working, Ronald delighted in spoiling his nieces and nephews with memorable outings to places like McCreless Mall—often including dinner at Luby’s and a movie—as well as trips to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld.

His passions included visits to Radio Shack, Montgomery Ward, and Sears, and he enjoyed spending time away from work with trips to Rockport, Calaveras Lake, and Canyon Lake. Ronald also had a fondness for collecting stereos, police and fire scanners, CDs, DVDs, and faithfully playing the lottery on a weekly basis.

Ronald is survived by his brother, Donald Klug and wife Karen, and their children Kenneth and Anna Klug; Lori and Nick Staton; sister-in-law Delanie Klug and her children Colby and Sharee DeFriese, Jason and Katherine Klug; brother-in-law Joe Alderete and children Kenneth and Suzanne Shiroky; Michael Klug; and Nathan Alderete.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Shirley Klug; his brother, Edgar Klug; and his sister, Brenda Alderete.

Ronald will be remembered for his devotion to his work, his love for family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness throughout his life.

Though his journey has ended, Ronald will be remembered for living life on his own terms, finding joy in the little things, and sharing a love that will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends. The memories he leaves behind will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Palmer Mortuary from 9am to 10am. A prayer service will begin at 10am and interment will follow at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in St. Hedwig, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth W. Klug, Kenneth C. Shiroky, Jason E. Klug, Michael J. Klug, Nathan P. Alderete and Nicholas A. Staton

Eduvijes Garza-Sanchez

In loving memory of Eduvijes Garza Sanchez, affectionately known as Vicke, who graced this world with her vibrant spirit from November 14, 1968, until her departure on January 30, 2026. Born in the charming town of Eagle Pass, Texas to Herbel Garza ✝️ and Francisca S. Garza. Vicke was a beacon of joy, her laughter echoing through the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Education illuminated her path, as she thrived in the Crystal City school district, where both her curiosity and her vivacity flourished. Vicke was not just a student; she was a lover of life itself, embodying an essence that was pure happiness. With an infectious zest for music and dance, she could always be found spinning and twirling amidst melodies, filling any space with a sense of vitality that was unmistakably hers. The rhythmic beats brought her joy, and she took every opportunity to sing and dance, often igniting the same passion in those fortunate enough to join her.

Her love for Mexico, a place that captured her heart with its vibrant culture and rhythm of life. Whether it was playing ball with friends or sharing meals filled with laughter, Vicke embraced each moment with sheer delight, always accompanied by her beloved mother, who was undoubtedly her closest companion throughout life's journey.

For many, winter can bring a heavier emotional weight, especially for those carrying grief. The season slows us down, sometimes more than we’d like. Even so, some strength is built in stillness.

Isabel McCune

Go rest high on that mountain,

Your work on Earth is done.

I wish I could see the Angel’s faces

When they hear your sweet voice sing.

It’s taken me a while to write this because I still can’t really believe it’s true, but my mommy passed away. For those who didn’t know, she was struggling with dementia for a few years and even though she was a tough cookie and hung on for as long as she could, God called her back home on Saturday, 01/03/2026. She was 61.

“He Only Takes The Best”

God saw she was getting tired

And a cure was not to be.

So He put his arms around her

And whispered, “Come with Me.”

With tear filled eyes

We watched her suffer and fade away.

Although we loved her deeply,

We could not make her stay.

A Golden Heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands put to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes The Best.

Isabel was healed in Jesus’ name.

Isabel McCune left behind her immediate family - my little sister, Ilyana, myself, Gabryl, her grandson Alexander, and son-in-law, Kris, our dad, James McCune, her older brother, Antonio Guerra, and her nieces and nephews, Tanya, Toni LeAnn, Bobby Joe, Rick, Julio, and so many others who knew and loved her. I am comforted in knowing that she is now happily reunited in Heaven with her sister, Gracie, and her mom, Maria Elena, who she talked about missing often.

She was born and raised in Texas and proud of it. We liked to call her “chiquita pero picosa” because she never let anything stand in her way of getting what she wanted when she set her mind to it. With that being said, she also loved hard and like no other. I will miss her always calling to talk my ear off for hours about her day and her unconditional love, my momma bear, mi mamacita. She taught me everything she could and helped mold me into the mother I am blessed to be today. I’ll always remember her excellent taste in music and fashion, as well as her ability to always know the right things to say if she wasn’t near by to hold me in her loving arms. I’ll never forget the way her closet smelled or the sound of her tiny little feet walking with her large collection of high heels she always loved to wear - rain or shine. I could’ve never dreamed of anyone better fit to be my mother, she was the best and gave me so many memories to hold on to her until we meet each other again. Wear your crown, momma, I love and miss you so much.

“I Made It Home”

I just wanted to let you know

That I made it home.

The journey wasn’t an easy one,

But it didn’t take too long.

Everything is so pretty here,

So white, so fresh, so new.

I wish that you all

Could close your eyes

And that you could see it too.

Please try not be sad for me.

Try to understand

God is taking care of me…

I’m in the shelter of His hands.

Here there is no sadness,

No sorrow, and no pain.

Here there is no crying

And I’ll never hurt again.

Here it is so peaceful

When all of the angels sing.

I really have to go now…

I’ve just got to try my wings.

You may hear the terms viewing and visitation used interchangeably, but they can serve different purposes.
A viewing is typically a quiet time to pay respects in person, while a visitation is often a more open opportunity for family and friends to gather and offer support.
Both are meaningful in their own way.
