Earlier this evening, at approximately 7:45 PM, police were called to Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg) following reports of possible shots fired in our parking lot at the conclusion of a visitation.
Multiple agencies responded quickly, including the Indiana State Police, Clark County Police Department, and the Sellersburg Police Department. Upon investigation, it was determined that the sounds heard were possibly fireworks. No visible evidence of a firearm being used was found, and all patrons present were fully cooperative with law enforcement.
At Garr Funeral Home, we take the safety of our guests and community very seriously. While we always strive to create a comforting and respectful environment to celebrate the lives of those we serve, public safety remains our highest priority.
We appreciate the quick response of our local law enforcement and the understanding of those who were in attendance this evening.
