Many people put off colonoscopies because they feel uncomfortable or believe they are not at risk.

The reality is that colorectal cancer often develops without symptoms, and risk increases with age. Screening is one of the most effective tools for early detection and prevention.

If screening has been on your to-do list, consider this your reminder to take the next step for your health. Talk with your provider about colorectal screening or visit https://www.vaughanregional.com/services/digestive-health to assess your risk.

Feeling all the love this Heart Month ❤️

Today our team showed up in red to support heart health awareness and to remind our community (and each other!) how important it is to take care of our hearts. And since it’s Valentine’s Day, we took a little extra time to celebrate the people who keep our hospital beating every single day. 💕

Women have heart attacks, too. In fact, heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S. for women. We encourage all moms, daughters, sisters, aunts, and nieces to focus on your heart health this February, American Heart Month. A few healthy habits, like proper diet and exercise, can put you on the right path. And know your risk of heart disease, something you can get a handle on by simply taking a free heart health risk assessment by visiting http://scionhealth.us/6181hObzD.

Heart disease remains the No. 1 cause of death for women in the United States, yet many women don’t realize that their heart attack symptoms can look very different from the “classic” signs often seen in men. Learn more about your risks and what you can do to mitigate them.
