✨ The Ark – Dothan ✨

The Ark is a nonprofit ministry in Dothan, Alabama, dedicated to providing hope, healing, and help to individuals facing life’s toughest challenges. Their mission is to nurture the needs of the whole person—mind, body, and soul—while guiding individuals to discover and live out their purpose. 

📍 The Ark offers a 12-month residential transformational program for men and women seeking to overcome homelessness, addiction, and challenges such as reentry after incarceration. 

🎯 Mission:
To be a place of safety during life’s storms and to support individuals as they rebuild their lives through faith-based guidance, mentorship, and practical resources. 

🌱 Impact:
Residents receive room, board, counseling, life skills training, education support, job readiness assistance, and mentorship to help them become independent and contributing members of society. 
Programs are supported through community donations, volunteers, and Ark thrift stores that help fund their life-changing services. 

Selma AIR is grateful for organizations like The Ark and their commitment to restoring hope and transforming lives across Alabama. 💙

💙 You cannot get HIV from hugging, sharing food, or sitting next to someone.
💙 People living with HIV who are undetectable cannot transmit the virus (U=U).

FACT: Talking about HIV prevention encourages protection, not risk. Honest conversations about testing, PrEP, and safer s*x help people make informed, empowered choices about their health.

During Black History Month we are reminded of power of knowledge, community, and advocacy. Continuing that legacy means normalizing conversations about our health, breaking silence, and making sure our communities have the tools to thrive our mind, body, and spirit.
