This is what happens when my daily becomes art.
I started by cutting a stack of random squares from a thrifted piece of tweed to use as foundations for daily stitching. I wanted to play with textural and explore tone-on-tone texture.
But eventually, I couldn't resist the siren song of color. These snippets of hand dyed cotton can't be ignored when they demand to be seen! I still tried to use them in a study of texture and repetitive patterns.
After stitching a half dozen squares, I realized that I could put them together in a piece. I finished 3 more, arranged them into a 9 patch, and added more hand dyed fabric as sashing, and here we are.
