Carpal tunnel syndrome has become a “catch all” term that seems to be used any time anyone has an issue with their wrist at all. True Carpal Tunnel syndrome is a compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. Leading to numbness, tingling and even weakness in the thumb, index and middle finger specifically. Usually on the palm side to be even more specific. If your whole hand is falling asleep, your wrist alone hurts, your forearm aches, etc., its likely a different issue and should be treated as such! Treating it incorrectly could prolong your healing process or even make the issue worse!
