My heart is heavy today as we lost our brilliant and loving pioneer and father of Myofascial Release. John Barnes was an amazing teacher, therapist, and mentor. He changed my life, my career, and taught me so much. I am forever grateful for being able to learn from him and for the impact he made on my life. We will miss you John. 💔 😢

Did you know that MFR is very helpful for babies with lots of different conditions? Myofascial release creates symmetry of the body, alignment of the bones, eases tension, decreases inflammation, and helps regulate the nervous system. Check out the changes in this sweet baby in just one MFR session. Parents consented to these photos being posted.

In the before photo, observe the strong midline pull and tension in her face (look at forehead and between the eyes, as well as the position of the eyes). Also notice the tension in her upper lip (lip blister and lip being pulled up), as well as low tongue posture and open mouth breathing. Look at the after photo at how much more relaxed she looks, how everything looks much more symmetrical and open! The eyes are more relaxed, the midline pull has greatly diminished, the upper lip tension has decreased, there is less open mouth posture, and her ears look freer too!

What a great conference I was able to attend this past weekend on Clearwater Beach! The Breathe and Thrive Symposium by the American Laser Study Club was a great opportunity to learn more about airway issues and oral restrictions, as well as collaborate with lots of dentists, therapists, and providers caring for these patients.

I am beyond blessed to collaborate with many great providers in my area that were there as well, including two that gave amazing presentations. It truly takes a team!
