Few Christians today trust God without a safety net.
George Müller burned the bridge.

In 19th-century England,
orphans were left to starve in the streets
or sold into brutal workhouses.

Müller opened his home.
Then another.
Then five massive buildings—
caring for thousands.

But he made a vow
that defied all logic:

He would never ask a human being for money.

No fundraising.
No appeals.
No debt.

He wanted to prove to a skeptical world
that God still hears prayer.

There were mornings
when breakfast time arrived
and the tables were set—
but the plates were empty.

No food in the pantry.
No money in the bank.

Müller would simply stand,
look at the hungry children,
and thank God for the meal
that was not yet there.

And as the "Amen" left his lips,
a knock would sound at the door.

The baker.
The milkman.
Sent by God, not by request.

Bread.
Milk.
Provision.

Not once.
Not rarely.

Again and again,
for sixty years.

He cared for over 10,000 orphans
and recorded more than 50,000 specific answers to prayer.

He didn’t just build orphanages.
He built a monument to the faithfulness of God.

We claim to trust Him.
Yet we hoard our resources
just in case He forgets.

Many admire Müller’s faith.
Few possess the faith to wait for the knock.
