We need everyone to IMMEDIATELY CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE all day today and tomorrow!! Tomorrow is the deadline - if not called to a vote, the PBM Reform bill will die on the calendar for the 5th year in a row while all of our neighboring states are taking a stand!

Even if you have called, CALL AGAIN!

Call TODAY and let your representative know you want them to immediately CONCUR with HB1665.

Then call Chairman Zuber and Speaker White and tell them to do the same.

Either our elected officials can do what we put them in office to do, or we can put someone in their place that can get the job done!

The evidence is there; now, we need them to do the right thing!

Ask them to CONCUR with HB 1665! Do NOT send to conference!

Business groups claim paying pharmacies a fee to cover their overhead cost would increase their cost of their health plans.

It will NOT.

Take the example below. This is the data on one company’s fills at one pharmacy in our state.

76% of the Rx filled on this plan, the insurance company/PBM paid $0.00 dollars towards the cost of those Rx to the pharmacy.

The employee paid the ENTIRE cost at the register.

So let’s break this down.

The employer pays a portion of the premium for the employee.

The employee pays their portion of the premium.

The employer is sent a bill for an OVERINFLATED price to pay the insurance/PBM for the cost of the Rx.

The employee pays a copay at the time of sale.

The pharmacy is UNDERPAID for the Rx.

The PBM collected all the money for the Rx to be filled and paid $0.00 out for it, therefore making a profit at the expense of everyone else!

The employer and employee cost do NOT need to go up to pay pharmacies fairly!

They already are OVERCHARGED for the cost of their health plans medication by the PBM, NADAC would fix that.

And they’re already paying the money out that would cover the cost of the dispensing fee, but the PBMs are keeping it.

Employers failure to and/or having the ability to audit their plan information is creating fear where none is needed!

Why should we ALL suffer while we pad the already deep pockets of the PBMs!

Yesterday, the Mississippi State Senate passed a clean Senate Strike-All amendment to HB 1665 by a vote of 44–7. The bill will now return to the House for action, which will likely occur very quickly on the House floor.
