The great ice storm of 2026 paid us a visit this weekend! ❄️✨ We’re happy to share that our self-advocates stayed safe and warm throughout the storm. None of our residential facilities lost power, and anyone who did was safely cared for at our Day Activity Center, Uptown. 💛

We did have a tree come down on one of the properties, but our amazing maintenance team jumped right in and had it taken care of in no time — teamwork at its best! 💪👏

Swipe through to see a few of the stunning nighttime photos of the icy trees. A cold weekend, but a beautiful sight to see! 🌙❄️

✨ New FREE Virtual Social Opportunity for Self-Advocates & Families ✨

We’re excited to share a new community resource called Next Chapter Connections, a nonprofit based in Fort Mill, SC, created to support individuals on the autism spectrum who may experience social isolation—especially after aging out of school-based or structured programs.

💻 What’s being offered?
Moderated virtual social meet-ups for:
Older teens & young adults
Adults
Seniors
with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or similar neurodivergent conditions.

🤝 These meet-ups are:
✔️ Peer-to-peer and purely social
✔️ Led by a moderator to keep the space positive, inclusive, and respectful
✔️ Open to verbal and non-verbal participants (live chat available)
✔️ Camera-optional
✔️ Pressure-free — participate in whatever way feels comfortable

💙 The focus is on friendship, connection, and community — not therapy or clinical goals. Participation is always free, and seniors are warmly welcomed.

🔗 Learn more or sign up here: www.nextchapterconnections.com

Next Chapter Connections also hopes to collaborate with local agencies in the future to help address gaps in adult services, including housing and meaningful day programs.

If you or someone you love could benefit from this opportunity, we encourage you to check it out and share with others 💫
