OMH Foundation recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at Prisma Health’s Cancer Institute in Seneca, bringing together donors, staff, and community members to celebrate the start of a much anticipated expansion. Through strong community support, the Foundation raised $4.5 million—including a grant from the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services—to help support the project.

The expansion will enhance patient care by doubling the capacity of the Infusion Suite, increasing exam rooms—including a dedicated bone marrow treatment room—expanding provider space, and adding a serenity garden. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2027.

OMH Foundation is incredibly grateful to all the individuals and businesses whose generosity made this important project possible. Your support is enhancing the care experience for patients today and in the future. THANK YOU to our wonderful community for supporting Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills through OMH Foundation's Annual Christmas Tree Festival! Festival sponsors and decorators were treated to a breakfast last week, sponsored by Blue Ridge Bank. There, OMH Foundation announced proceeds from the 2025 Christmas tree Festival - a net profit of $326,643. This event generated the highest net profit of any fundraising event in our history! Funds raised benefit 1) Hospice of the Foothills Crippen Endowment to provide vital sustainable operational support and charity care for hospice patients across the upstate and 2) Cottingham House Expansion to support an additional 10-bed wing to increase capacity at our inpatient hospice facility.

Congrats to festival decorators who received Blue Ribbons for their creations: Lake and Hills Garden Club, Debbie and Steve Daniell & Designer's Touch Florist, Allie Thomson and Waterford Pointe Women.

The festival has taken place for 22 years and raised a total of $3.2 million. Plans are underway for OMH Foundation's 2026 Christmas Tree Festival to be held the week following Thanksgiving. Gathered together with our Women in Philanthropy members this week to learn more about Behavioral Health and the many resources Prisma Health is providing across the state. We are blessed to have a Behavioral Health Emergency Care Unit right here at OMH - a service to help stabilize patients in crisis so they can safely return to our community or to a more intensive service.

Additionally, did you know Prisma Health is building a new inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital? The new 112-bed hospital will quadruple the number of beds available for adolescents and children to help meet the critical community need. It will also provide expanded care for adults, including older adults. Located in Easley, the hospital is expected to open in the spring of 2027.
