Gene was born in Seneca, SC in November 9, 1950. He faithfully served his church as a member and deacon at Richland Baptist Church prior to moving to Durham, NC. Services will be Friday, February 6, 2026, Visitation at 12:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm, Seneca Baptist Church, 1080 South Oak Street, Seneca, South Carolina. The funeral service for the late Dorothy Lee Pickens Ware will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The public viewing will be held on February 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service. The service will be held at Mt. Olive CME Church, located on 430 North Fishtrap Road, Easley, SC. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive CME Church Cemetery.

Service is entrusted to Adams Mortuary.

The Service will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate, it will be rescheduled.
