Good morning! Starting October 1st, we will add a $1.50 fee to your bill if we have to bill you for TOS fees (time of service fees) and known co-pays. TOS fees are a courtesy to our patients. They are a reduced fee for services for patients that have no insurance or a high deductible. This keeps chiropractic care affordable and accessible. However, they are expected to be paid on the day the service was provided--hence the name--time of service fees. We will make exceptions if you have more than one appointment in a week or you have appointments in back to back weeks. If we know your co-pay, we will also expect that payment on the day of service. For new patients or for changes in insurance, oftentimes, we don't know what your co-pay will be until we submit to your insurance. In those instances, we will not add a service charge to your bill. The cost of stamps has become ridiculous, and I'm having a hard time justifying $300-$400/month on stamps when patients can pay their bills when they are in the office. I have received statements from 5 of my own billers stating that they will no longer send out a paper bill, and I will either have to remember to pay online or they will send me a bill via email that I then have to print and submit. So I know I'm not the only one alarmed by the cost of postage these days. If you have any questions, please contact our office. As always, thanks for your understanding and attention. We look forward to serving you. ~Kristina Heiman
