Good morning patients and friends! I’m writing this message to let you know that I injured my left shoulder. I slept on my left side Monday night and woke up with pain in my shoulder blade and upper back. That’s right, I slept on my side and injured my shoulder!!! Turning 47 has been great! I went to work Tuesday with the pain, but, at that time, it was tolerable and manageable. That night, I reached for something with my left arm, and I had such a sharp pain in my shoulder that took my breath away. Ever since then, I’ve had strong, sharp pain in my shoulder with reaching, flexion, and abduction. I don’t know if this is adhesive capsulitis brought on by an old injury to my neck and shoulder from a car accident or an impingement syndrome of my rotator cuff. I went to the doctor, and I’m on oral steroids, but I may have to have an MRI if that doesn’t help. I’m so sorry for everyone I’ve had to cancel on. I have a new found empathy for any of my patients that have dealt with shoulder pain. This is the pits!! Thanks for your understanding and kindness!
