There are many reasons the inaccurate representation of narcolepsy is majorly problematic. An 8-15 yr delay to diagnosis, it further isolates those living with narcolepsy, and it perpetuates a hurtful stereotype.

Friday night, a new show, Stumble aired on and with a prominent, inaccurate portrayal of . URGENT: please sign our petition asking NBC to work with the narcolepsy community to reduce misunderstanding instead of reinforcing outdated stereotypes.

I was diagnosed with type 1 narcolepsy 15 years ago. The first few years I felt so low. My self worth had plummeted. I couldn't stand feeling so isolated and useless. As I met more people in similar situations I began to feel part of a community. And that changed everything. I learned to advocate for myself and others. I learned my worth isn't determined by my productivity, or ability to do the things I used to. Now I serve on the Board of Directors of this wonderful organization and am helping advocate for change in policies and helping others living with sleep disorders navigate life, healthcare, and relationships. We have such a supportive, empathetic, and strong community. PLEASE DONATE!
