You should wait at least 4 hours after BOTOX before hitting the gym, sauna or hot tub. This helps to prevent bruising because heat can raise your blood pressure.

Also avoid taking aspirin or NSAID pain relievers (such as ibuprofen) for 24 hours before or after getting Botox. These painkillers can act as blood thinners. Blood thinners all increase your risk for bruising or bleeding after your injection. Instead, Tylenol is recommended.

Don’t get a facial or head massage for a full 24 hours after Botox. You should also avoid rubbing your face or using any type of rollers, or Gua Sha facial massagers or red light therapy in the area that was treated.

Don’t lie down for at least 1 hour after receiving Botox.

Otherwise, you can resume your regular activities right after getting Botox.

Three days ago, we showed me getting treated on the right side of my face with IPL and on the left with Fractional laser😉 Now it’s time to talk about recovery …

A lot of people hesitate with laser treatments because they worry about the recovery process and time it takes to heal. So here’s a look at what I looked like 24 hours after my IPL and Fractional treatment.

The Fractional laser side is still a bit swollen and puffy, but it won’t be noticeable with makeup. What may be visible for a day or two though, are a few breakouts!

This is completely normal after Fractional laser treatment. The heat goes deep into the skin and causes a purging effect, pushing out oils and impurities. It’s also normal to see some dry patches—it’s all part of the process. Sometimes when your skin feels dry, it overcompensates by producing more oil, leading to breakouts.

Two key takeaways:
1️⃣ Consider getting a facial before your laser treatment to minimize oil buildup.

2️⃣ For those that do get breakouts after a fractional laser treatment, a short course of antibiotics can be helpful.

Remember, everyone’s skin is unique—but what you’re seeing here is totally normal for Day 2 post-treatment.
