2 weeks ago Caleb broke his wrist. It was a hairline fracture but required bracing 24/7 which pulled him from baseball. This kid lives, eats, and breathes ⚾. So we set out to heal him as fast as humanly possible. This was done through diet. Minimizing sugar (as much as possible for a 10 year old boy) to eliminate inflammation and HIGH protein to promote healing. 10 days later, he was able to hit a half a bucket of balls without pain, and able to play in a double header yesterday. So proud of this boy and his willingness to make dietary sacrifices for the better of his body. 💪👦❤️

👋 Do me a favor and ask your athlete if their heels hurt and comment below.
⚽ I try not to travel to my kids' games without tape and scissors. There is likely a kid who has pain. Let's not normalize pain for our children.
📣 Stay tuned for the next Growing Pains seminar. It will be available via Zoom this time. Comment "I'm in" if you want to be notified when the date comes out.

This summer I gave many seminars on injury prevention which includes education on nutrition, hydration, and many many other things. In that questions came up about Gatorade, Coke zero, and sugar in general. I wanted to circle back with all of you about the "zero sugar" products.
There is a large amount of quality evidence that shows artificial sweeteners are NOT good, increasing cardiovascular risks.
So the Gatorade Zeros, Vitamin Water Zero, etc should be replaced by a healthier alternative. You can never go wrong with good old fashioned water. Watch the sugar content and read the ingredients.
We are all always learning more and it's so hard to keep track of all the bad stuff that's created. But watch for erythritol and sucralose. My apologies for any confusion over the summer!

Our Approach Is Different

At Perform for Life Physical Therapy, we provide a unique approach to your therapy. We understand that a pain in one part of the body can cause dysfunction in other areas of the body. That is why we begin our evaluations with a detailed interview of the history of the injury followed by an assessment of the whole body to determine all of the components at play and how they contribute to your overall function

Physical therapy is more than just exercises. We believe in a hands-on comprehensive approach to include manual therapy, modalities, therapist guided exercises, and a custom plan of care that addresses both musculoskeletal and neuromuscular aspects of physical activities to improve your overall performance in life. Our goal is to understand your specific needs and tailor your experience to meet your goals in life.

Our physical therapist specializes in treating injuries, helping seniors and dance physical therapy. We also have a fully equipped fitness center on-site offering you turn-key services for all your physical therapy needs.

Perform for Life Physical Therapy is conveniently located in Severna Park, behind Park Plaza at 537 B&A Blvd, Suite D alongside Fare Chiropractic.
